Decided that since I have some time before New York Comic-Con that I'm going to try to tackle this build. I think I did a pretty good job of putting together a decent X-1 costume in this thread http://www.therpf.com/f24/my-wolverine-build-updated-8-13-2012-a-156522/
but that was mainly just buying the items and scouring thrift stores. Most of the work had already been done for me by Bowelrock, Marajade's father and everyone else I forgot to mention from the Wolverine All Day thread.
I actually have a navy blue spandex zentai suit that I bought for a failed attempt at Booster Gold a few years ago and tomorrow I'll be dropping it off at a seamstress to get the hood and lower arms removed. I'm thinking that's not going to take more than a week at most to get back since its a pretty straightforward alteration.
Im going to make the belt, the x-men symbol,the tops of the gloves and the metal plates on the boots out of foamies.I also plan on hand painting the gold/yellow slashes on the suit using Jacquard Lumierre paints that are specially formulated for fabrics. If that doesnt work out then I'll buy some yellow spandex and have the seamstress add them using the paint lines as a template.
