Finished one of the boots tonight.Heres plenty of before and after pics.

Here are the boots I started out with, got em for 10 bucks because a local K-mart was going out of business.

And heres the finished boot.Sorry for the poor photo quality.

Managed to get these very smooth and shiny by applying light even coats.

Took a few more pics after I finished the second boot. Still waiting on my modified navy blue zentai suit from the seamstress on Wednesday so I suited up in a lighter blue one for the pics.

Great job on the boots and good find regarding the price! I may have to use some cheapo rubber boots for my Batman lol. Is your new suit going to have the shorter sleeves?

Thanks man! Yeah I opted to go with the shorter sleeves....looking back at the pics I MIGHT try and extend the boots a bit with black foam not sure I even want to stress about it at this point.

Once I get the suit back from the seamstress Ill post more pics.Also going to try to hand paint the slash design using liquid latex as a base.A couple of nice thin coats should permeate the fabric good enough to hold acrylic paint. Since it's just in a few places I dont think it'll get too hot either.

Im gonna try painting on spandex shorts in a couple of days with this technique and Ill post my results. Interestingly enough, I found a good local source for liquid latex is at Priscilla's....lol they keep it in their fetish aisle in 1 quart jars that are already colored for about 15 bucks a pop

No updates tonight, have to work a wedding. Hoping to have the latex test done by Tuesday at the latest.

Wasnt very happy with the length of the boots so Im extending them with foam and attempting to match the tops to the style of bracers I'll be wearing with this.

Our puppy chewed up my chest symbol so its back to the drawing board on that.Will hopefully post updated pics on the boots and that tonight.

Made some progress tonight.Almost finished one of the boots.

I have a couple of classes tomorrow but Im planning on getting the second boot constructed (I made patterns from the first boot) and also working on the belt.

There's a local comic-con on the 16th looks like its going to be a couple of all-nighters to finish this in time.

Got one boot 99 percent complete. Will start working on the other after class. Also got the modified morph suit in, it looks great.I just need to get it on my duct tape dummy and start marking out a pattern for the arms and shoulder slashes. Does anyone here know if theres a glue thats recommended for spandex? I want to glue these down before I take them to a seamstress to get sewn.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Va Comic-Con is tomorrow and Ive been working myself ragged to get this finished in time.

Did a full suit up tonight to see how it looks and also to help me organize a checklist of what I need to do to finish each individual piece off. Hope you like.

You can also see how much I left to do here. The belt needs to be finished, I need to finish the boots, finish gluing the gloves, painting the gauntlets and other little last minute things.

Anyways thats all I have for now, have to go finish up. Wil hopefully have better pics and get to meet some of you tomorrow.

I should also mention that this is my first costume that Ive put together instead of using store bought materials. I know this isnt one of the 6000 Iron Man or Spiderman builds out there but I appreciate the few comments and support Ive received on these and other forums.

If my 2cents means anything to you, I think you did a pretty good job, only thing I would have done different is paint the suit in black latex and make the boots more snug at the top
