Yeah, Ed does some outstanding work. Although almost everyone hates the job he did on the Enterprise restoration. Doesn't look anything like I remember seeing on TV or any screencaps. Not sure where the designs/colors came from...

I have recently come to believe that all the markings on Miarecki's restored 11-foot Enterprise were actually THERE during filming... it's just that he "emphasized" them too much.

I never used to believe that there were gridlines on the bottom of the saucer, for example... but now I think they were there.

He just rendered everything too vividly is all... Too heavy on the airbrush. Note how on the unretouched TOP side of the saucer, the gridlines are just faint pencil marks. The lines on the rest of the ship should have been equally faint.

I only have a couple trics. No screen used for me either. I am all about the lights.

That was my point, didn't mean to say that everything was wrong, just too much. The grid lines are WAY over exagerated. It just looks wrong...
