trouble with this new set of laws is that until its tested out in the court system, its all conjecture and interpretation of the wording. Whats going to be interesting, is seeing a few test cases go through the system and see how the beaks interpret it.
IMHO a known recidavist with criminal history attempting to import or sell an IF or worse a deactivated firearm will not be in the same league as a bone-fide prop collector attempting to import an obvious sci-fi model but when it comes to prosecution by the CPS you never know.
Those UK collectors amongst us will have to keep an eye out for the first batch of prosecutions as these will be the stated cases.

True Paul, be interesting to see how they plan to go through with this ludicrous law and actually prosecute a prop collector for his love of the hobby lol.
Just sucks as id pretty much just started getting into prop blasters, my first being a cheapie offworld blaster which i repainted, i really enjoyed the job, too bad that enjoyment was very short lived being a UK citizen and under the nanny hammer!

Just wondering... how do you know for sure? Unless someone has already has had a Solo blaster confiscated, then it would fall onto a customs officer's opinion if it is a RIF or not, wouldn't it?

A gun with a grille and big silvery knob on the end, with a bright orange insert no less, certainly speaks to be of a non realistic nature, in my opinion. Same with a Rebel Blaster. A Leia or Storm Trooper blaster on the other hand is a little harder to gauge.

Well it's impossible to know for for sure so I was a bit too precise in my post - but it's worth remembering that the Han blaster is based on a real gun and for many people that is all they see - a real looking gun....

FYI all the Brits on here!
After much hard work I managed to Trade Mark my T/A name- Custom Creations.
Its is listed under classes 37 and 42, and they are:
'Design of Models for advertising, props, gifts,exhibition, display and recreational purposes' and
'Construction of models for advertising, props, gifts,exhibition, display and recreational purposes'
I am hoping should I get 'pulled over' by the rozzers, I have a bonafide reason by way of trade for organising said business (eg having a wopping collection/trade of Blaster props etc. ;-)

I'm a little confused by the Propstore wording 'UK Export'.

Are they saying that they can deal in firearms, but only if the buyer is outside the UK?

How will Propstore then obtain items for sale on their site, when they themselves are in the UK?

All this, and quite bizzarely, the latest guidelines for acceptable play in the UK's schools will now allow 'pretend' guns and 'superhero' play, something which, up til now, has been discouraged to the point of punishing the kids that run around making machine gun noises, and shouting 'Hulk SMASH!'

as i said before. a seemingly pro-active govt gets votes.
WE know they're targeting the wrong things/people but the average Sun reader or taxi driver/backseat politician couldnt care less and probably thinks its a great idea.
I do feel that the time and resources put into the banning of just about everything is a total waste when hooligans seem to be kicking the crap out of anything that moves (without the aid of replica guns/deacs/samurai swords) and get sent on anger management holidays or let off with an ASBO.
