Hi all! I'm always proud to show off our designer's work, so I wanted to unveal the model we were commissioned to design for the phaser rifle seen in Star Trek First Contact. We've been working with another RPF member to make it look as close to the screen version as possible, and we're really proud of the way it looks.

We'll be 3D printing this and then making a silcone mold sometime in the future to make resin casts from. We're thinking about making resin kits as well as a fully assembled resin rifle, so there are a few options coming down the pipe!

Let me know what you all think!

It's one of the last few props I have been wanting In my collection. what do I think. I think if you do It justice and not out of my monetary reach. I will be one happy prop collector ! :thumbsup

I think it would be so great , if it were made in separate pieces in resin..that way it could be built by the individual and lighting could be added and possibly a soundboard as well.....just a thought ;) ;) ;)

Great call on that one! I was planning on doing each piece as a separate mold and then casting each piece to make a resin kit. We actually designed it to be hollow inside, so the soundboards and lights are definitely something we wanted people to be able to incorporate.

Oh that is sooooooo cool...I wasn't sure if that approach was feasible or not for several pieces compared to one long resin casting....that's great news

Hey there. Those are greate models. Last year I startet making Props to outfit an away team for a lokal convention. I also made models for the type III b and c aswell as a boomerang phaser for conversion to pepakura. But I just can't get the dimensions right. Would you mind telling me your final dimensions? I pepped my foreshaft, but its simply ridicuously large :p
