Tron: Legacy, "The Digital Frontier" Book

If you take in account the fake books for the soundstage, my best guess is, that ~30-40 books have been made, I counted ~16 books in the cap, where the pile behind the front books serve as a stand, one in a female(?) customers hand and one on the shelf.

The worst case would be, that those books in the cap were those used in the ARG, and all 16 have been delivered to Tron fans in the states by Dumont shipping.

True, that would be bad...I really hope I can find someone who got the book, even though it's not looking good so far. Thanks for the pic too, I wasn't able to find any from the actual movie

I'm gonna see the movie again tonight, maybe I'll be able to see more of the book, maybe even snap a quick pic

Nothing to add really, but while watching the movie i saw this and thought 'wonder which one of the RPFers will make this', and the bit things on the mantelpiece, as well as a few other bits, am i alone in this?

I can add these pics. These are some shots of one of those 16 book that were given out, they were hollowed out and filled with some SWAG. Hope they help.

Those are pretty cool, maybe ill find some way to get them printed on the first 2 pages. I plan on buying a blank journal or sketchbook to wrap the cover around. Today I found one that was the perfect size, but half the thickness I need :angry

Why not pick up a cheap hardcover book at a secondhand bookstore, you could print and paste the title and dedication page onto the first two pages.

Bear, would you scan the cover for us? If you break it up into multiple pics, I can combine them into one photoshop file. I'll even go as far as doing the text over top of the original, and match all the fonts and colors. Set the scanner at 600dpi and TIFF format.

I used to work at ILM as a digital effects artist and will totally do this justice for everyone.

That's not a bad idea either! Might end up having to do that since very few journals are that thick. I did notice that in one picture, you can see that the book underneath has a light blue hard cover.

The one thing I'm wondering is this: For those that got the book from the locations for the final challenge, was the entire book written or was it like the props in the film, possibly recycled real books with just the cover stuck to them?

It's my understanding that the book had a huge hole in it, where the text would go, and only one page was placed in the hole. I think this is the page: POP TECH '75

Edit: Well, i was half right, here's the cut out hole: http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/354/20101208221821.jpg
But it looks to be the page on flynnfrontier: Flynn Frontier

Okay, that certainly answered my question.

Now, if you're wanting to do the film version of the book, you'd leave the book normal, but if you want to do the ARG version, you'd have to cut a hole in the book.

Actually, I don't have the book, these are images I found on the Unfiction forum. They/ve got several different threads about the SWAG that was in the Dumont Shipping packages including some great pics. I've also found other pics just by random surfing/searching.

Sorry.

There are at least two versions of the book. One had the same hard cover and dust cover, the other is blue cover with dust cover.

Yeah, the movie version was blue, the ARG version had the same cover. I'm making the movie version, which still has a different dust cover then the one given for the ARG.

Damn. Well, guys, I tried! :)

If anyone comes across one, I'd still be happy to do it.

Yea, for one you aren't supposed to post ebay links that aren't your own. And two, I don't know about everybody else, but I never trust an auction without pictures.
