Tron Legacy: Flynn Lives

Here is a scan of the Flynn's Arcade ticket given out at the San Diego Comic Con last year. I have the flyer somewhere (at the moment, I'm not sure where), which I'll scan too.

Thanks confusion, I've been searching like mad for a good pic of this ticket. All I found was a small shot on facebook, I was lost, until now.:thumbsup

When looking for quality light cycles, look no further than.....

And a magazine cover, found on the "Flynn Lives" discussion forum.

Tokens used during the 2009 comic-con convention. The came as part of a promotional Tron Wallet.

If there's a prop that's begging to have a run made, this is it:).

:confused? Um, okay...I'm glad you agree?

LOL! (That's what Flynn said to the Bit in the first film!)

BTW, I proceeded to submit my info and picture for the bad. I wonder if the preview is the end result or if there's going to be another type of appearance for the card.

And I also wonder if there'll be anything in relation to the ARG in the Orlando area.

Sharing is caring. LOL, I think that small shot on facebook is mine. Is it the pic with the tokens?

Good catch on the line from the movie. I was watching it earlier today. I'm hoping the badge is access to more clues and another mini-event, with more footage of the movie, but we'll have to wait and see.

I just sent in my request for my ID Card. I hope it doesn't take to long, I know everyone will be ooohing and aaaaahing over the extremely handsome pic I sent in to use on it, but I don't want to many delays.:lol:lol:lol:lol:lol

If anyone receives their Encom badge, please post in this thread, so we can all be on the look out for ours!! oh, and post images!!!!

A word of caution to anyone bidding on the Flynn Lives t-shirts on ebay. There are sellers falsely stating that the t-shirt from the February imax trailer preview is exactly the same as the t-shirt given out at Flynn's Arcade at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con. This is not true. The comic con shirts have codes on the t-shirts that are revealed with a black light, the shirts from the imax even do not have the black light codes....consider yourself informed and bid accordingly!

Guys, you're not going to believe this! I just got back from class, dropped of my Census form in the outgoing mail box and decided to check my mail. And look at what I found! I was in such a hurry to share the news, I didn't have time to set up my normal digital camera, so I used the camera built into my MacBook.

I found this baby in the mail. The return address looks like a printed out rubber stamp design that simply reads: "Flynn Lives, P.O. Box 236, San Diego, CA, 92101." The package itself is a Eco>Lite #000 by Polyair Packaging, Inc. I opened it up and I found this.

The Encom ID badge in all its glory. It had the first initial of my first name and my last name completely, Employee ID #, a holographic Encom logo sticker (as the reflective Encom name at the top), a red bar above the QR Code (to the right of my photo) reads "Authorized Use Only" and a red bar at the bottom that reads "Group 7 Clearance".

On the back, it reads as follows: "This badge is intended exclusively for Encom Employees with Group 7 Security Clearance. If the photo on the front differs in appearance from the person carrying it, please report the offending party to your supervisor at once." It has a shiney Encom logo, underneath reading in red: "Encom is serious about security." and a copyright to Encom underneath that. Above and below are red bars, inside the top on reads "For Authorized Use Only", the one on the bottom reads, "Group 7 Clearance."

The badge also comes with its own lanyard with the Encom name and logo repeated.

I checked inside the package and found the following piece of paper.

Dear "Encom employee"

I've been cranking out these badges in my workroom (behind Arcade Aid). Well, you don't know the half of it.

I've also been working my magic on the Encom system so that you can access it using the unique ID number on your badge. Your password is the same one you used over at FlynnLives.com - please note: only this password/ID combination will work (as I said - workin' my magic, but that's the furthest my magic can go).

This is the hardest I've worked since the first time I beat Astro-Gunner back in '87 (I was on that machine for three days straight - still have the calluses to prove it). Time to take a break and... play some Astro-Gunner.

--Zack

At the bottom it just reads "ARCADE AID."

Run the QR code (that weird pixelated stuff under "Authorized Use Only") to get the URL of the Encom system.

Unfortunately, I don't have a QR reader on my Mac or my cellphone (it's an LG EnV Touch). But after signing up with the Flynn Lives's Facebook page, there was a link to Encom International, which turned out to be the URL for the Encom System that you just mentioned: http://www.encominternational.com/login.aspx

They seriously put a lot of work into this. I couldn't help but smile when I read this in the mailbox:

Just a quick story I wanted to share with everyone - on my way home the other day, I stopped at a convenience store for some snacks... Fascinating, I know, but they had an old TRON arcade machine next to the frozen food aisle. Some kid (not more than 10 years old) was pumping all of his allowance into the quarter slot and working those controls with every fiber of his being. When the boy's mother finally ushered him away from the game, he let out a sigh, looked at our old 80's logo and declared, "Someday, I'm gonna work for Encom."
It just reminded me that we were all that kid at one point in our lives (at least, I was). We all dreamed of neon game grids and played the hero in our own little fantasy world. Now, we actually get paid to live in that world, to make it bigger and better for everyone who plays games or uses computers... and I, for one, am proud of that.
Thanks for indulging me the time to recount this anecdote for y'all,

--Alan Bradley
