TRON 3 ?!

Never got the hatred for Leto. I've never seen him give a bad performance.

Oh well... It's gotten to where you can spit around here & hit a bad opinion. LOL

How about just an opinion. What is a bad opinion? Opinions are subjective.

I dislike Leto because his performances are terrible. Morbius, The Joker, Mr. Nobody, Wallace all bad in my opinion, which IS subjective and its okay to disagree with me.

You're right... What I meant to say didn't translate to what I typed.

I liked him in BR2049, & Requiem for a Dream. Morbius was just badly written & I can't judge him in SUICIDE SQUAD because to me that whole thing was butchered by the studio, but in all those films, to me at least, he did great with what he was given.

Thanks, seriously, for calling me out. You're one of the few around here that I DO value what you have to say, & I don't want to come across as disparaging your opinion.

I really appreciate that. I totally get how things don't always translate from thought to post. I thought he was great in American Psycho and outstanding in Dallas Buyers Club. But since I'm a die hard sci-fi/comic nerd, I think I'm hypercritical when it comes to those genres.

I had mixed feeling of Tron Legacy. Hope this can be good...but not sure.
I wonder if they can get Daft Punk out of retirement to do the soundtrack. I did like Legacy's soundtrack by them.

I was just remembering that when Tron Legacy was coming out in 2010, my girlfriend back then had an 11 year old son, and watched a lot of Disney channel. Well, they were of course really pushing the movie. So you had all these child actors, who probably didn't even know what Tron was, advertising the movie.
One of the things they were REALLY pushing, were the suits.
They'd be like, "For the FIRST TIME EVER, there is actual lights in the suits that light up that the actors are wearing."

I'm like, you guys make it sound like there has been a ton of Tron movies and this is NOW the first time using lights in the suits.
I still think the original suits look better and the painstaking way they had to hand color/animate each one.

TRON Legacy was pretty good. It's a shame Disney threw the fanbase under the bus for Star Wars (and basically driving away Bruce Boxleitner, and not giving us a third film that could have included Cindy Morgan as Lora and/or Yori again into the mix).

Thats Disney for you....
I'm not I've seen the movie since back in 2010....I think I've seen bits and parts probably....but even thats been a LONG time now.

I've got no beef with Jared Leto's acting. I just usually don't wanna look at him. He's sort of a separate pop-culture character and it irks me.

Does anybody wanna see an OT remake with Tom Cruise playing Obi-Wan Kenobi? I'm sure he would put in the work and do a great job at the acting & sword dueling.

My fear with Tron 3 would be the complete absence of Tron.

That might be a blessing in disguise.

If Disney makes a mess of this project (is there any reason to think they won't?), then the less it feels tied to the old 'Tron' the easier it will be to cut it loose later. Both in our minds and in future reboots.

Ghostbusters 2016. The franchise was better off with that show being less connected to the originals.

At Walt Disney World last year my family and I experienced Tron: Lightcycle Run. It's a fun (if short) roller coaster, that definitely puts you in the Grid.

But there's NO TRON AT ALL in the ride. He's not represented, not mentioned, not pictured, not animated, not referenced, no voiceover from Bruce Boxleitner... nothing.

During the ride queue at the big reveal, you are "digitized" onto the Grid, but the ride voice says: "Users, prepare to be digitized into the world of TRON." It's as if Disney forgot that TRON is a character, not a city/place/name of the Grid. The ride does not really integrate the story of the TRON movies, although it does have one of the Sirens from TRON: Legacy give the safety spiel, and the coaster cars are designed to look like the TRON: Legacy Lightcycles.

And TRON: Legacy BARELY even had TRON in the film at all, ala Luke Skywalker in TFA. So I have no idea if Disney is getting Bruce back for at LEAST a cameo in the new film (TRON: Legacy left the schizophrenic Rinzler character turning back into TRON at the last minute, never to be seen again).

But they did get Bruce and Cindy (RIP) out last March for the grand opening, and Bruce went on the ride.
