That's what I was hoping for as well.
I'm happy for anything they do with Tron3! It's a beautiful world that needs more exploration.
Since the first Tron takes place in 1982 and the 2nd in 1989, both worlds are strictly just the computer, without internet.
I thought, what would it look like today, with the internet.....well, Disney probably couldn't do it, at least a realistic version.
Literally a world of ads and porn mainly....and everything in between.
There were things I liked with Tron Legacy, and things I didn't like. But, if they could make a decent 3rd, sure, give it a chance....but not sure if thats possible.

Sorry, been 10 years since I saw it. But it starts in 1989, and jumps forward, but the computer he finds is from 1989.....pretty sure with no internet.How does Legacy take place in 1989??
The system was closed, with no internet access. That's why Clu needed to escape. The IOs evolved over the time, so the system Sam entered was the one that Kevin entered back in '89, but it had completely changed into the world we saw in LEGACY.

I remember my ex's son was 11 in 2010 and watched Disney Chanel a lot. When Tron Legacy came out, they were advertising it like crazy. But I had to laugh when they were like, "For the FIRST TIME EVER the actors are wearing suits that light up."
I'm like, guys, this is only the 2nd movie, not like the 7th or something. Yet, I still much prefer the original costumes and looks over Legacys look.
Just cut the crap and make Olivia Wilde the lead... We need more female leads in movies nowadays.
