TriCloudWalker Ki-Adi Mundi Saber w/sound

Been meaning to post this for the last two weeks, but holidays have kept me quite busy.

Some of you are familiar with the Ki-Adi Mundi saber run that TriCloudwalker did last year. The saber hilt itself is a thing of beauty and really stands on its own, but as this was a gift for a very cool girlfriend that needs this final embellishment to her Aayla Secura costume, I had to go all out.

This was my 1st full electronics build for a lightsaber, and I think I jumped straight into the intermediate/advanced build category. With only slightly more than 1" clearance on the inner chamber, this truly was (as Eastern 57 on FX-Sabers put it) and exercise in Cram-Fu. Thanks to both MH and Eastern 57 of FX-Sabers for their threads on their respective builds.

Details:
-MR Yoda board (probably the only one that would fit.)
-14500 Li-Ion battery with recharge port/kill key
-Luxeon III royal blue LED
-Red LED on side is hooked up to light when the saber comes on.
-10 Segment LED bargraph scrolls up as blade engages
-Radio shack "SPST 1mS/5VDC Wired Detect Switch" mounted sideways, then the post on the large knob was ground down on one side, so when turned, it would depress the switch.

-Length of MR blade used a chassis to mount all the electronics and the switch in.
-the black covertec wheel from TCSS

Here is a video of the saber in action...

Neither can I. I wish he'd hurry the hell up already. ;) Awesome fantasic work, Chris. I love it! How'd the gf respond to it?

Even better than expected. I was a little apprehensive about giving it to her in front of her family on Xmas morn, but it ended up being the hit of Xmas. Her father was fascinated.

She's eager to don her Aayla again.

That's a gorgeous! I've been wanting to learn about wiring up LEDs, etc. too. I collect static props, not the FX versions--but a little fun light action is a beautiful thing!

Great work--I'll bet your girlfriend loved it! Thanks for posting--video is great.
