so after some minor modification, this is how he looks. i think he's (almost) perfect
his hairline was way too low and his hair was way too long
i removed the wig and glued it back up higher, then cut his hair while referencing the film
i used some leftover hair to extend the hairline to his ears, like in the original film
my only current aesthetic gripes with the doll:
- no eyelids. which i get, you dont always see them, but i feel like most of the promo shots and stationary scenes have his lids showing.
- the skin color is too tan
- his cheeks aren't rosy enough
- the skin should be glossy, not matte
i don't have the skills to trust myself with a repaint, so as it is now will probably be how i keep it. i could possibly print some false lids to pop in for the slightly closed look, but i'm worried that'll scratch the eyes. i'd definitely recommend to everyone raising the hairline. it's easy and it looks much more accurate now. it honestly looks even better in real life than in the pictures (the lens distortion makes the hair look thinner). all in all, i love this doll and i can't wait to bring it to cons
