TOS Type II Phaser Replica (my final attempt (no, really))

Nice collection there! Did you go ahead and order a hero thumb wheel to use at a later date? Inquiring minds want to know  Either way, everything is really coming together beautifully! Finney photo-shoot countdown…

I actually found an actual hacksaw in my mess of a tool (cardboard) box & was about to order a hero metal thumb wheel, but I found a discarded Diamond Select plastic thumb wheel in my parts collection & decided to see if I could do something with it.... a little sawing, a touch of sanding, a little chroming and suddenly I was like, if it's gonna look perfect, WTH make my life harder & spend more money?
Whatya think?

Giving enamels & chroming another day to cure, in the mean time the little things need attention & assembly- the aluminum front cover in the foreground (whatever it's called, sorry I'm so tired) needed shaping... seen so many peeps use it straight out of the box/bag without sanding the curves....

Oh, a last thing on my little OCD bits- I inserted a small section of clear tube inside the emitter to give the effect of it being not just a hollow straight shaft (which of course it was), and the front window was made with clear sheet styrene backed with auto window tint with a sharpie drawn small circle on the inside to give the faint effect of almost seeing the P1 emitter through it.
