Tomy TOS Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser waitlist

As much as I love the D. For some reason I just don't want it. My Diamond select is more than sufficient enough.
I never really loved the D…I know sacrilege….but it’s grown on me. And the Fanhome version is mighty impressive. If TOMY COMES out with one for the right price I’ll get it.

I love the Enterprise D and would definitely get one but how is Tomy going to make a 1:350 version? Is that even possible or would they have to release it in a different scale such as 1:700? At 1:350 it would be 70" long.:)

I doubt they’re making a 1/350 version…with all that diecast it would weigh like 80 pounds!

It’s probably gonna be smaller than the Fanhome version. Or maybe the same size.

The design has grown on me like I said and having a displayed all metal replica of the D with all those blingy lights would be mighty sweet.:)

It won't be 1/350. So it would not fit in with the rest of the collection.

Yes. In Mode 2, it lights up red. In Mode 3, it lights up red as well, but in a more dynamic way

The torpedo launcher will be very cool! I think this D7 will be pretty awesome! Can’t wait to see a demo video!

So it's a bold miscalculation on TOMY's part: I feel like they've narrowed the interested parties to serious TOS fans only.

It's a bold choice but presumably they have some data to make it worthwhile.

It is categorically not for me and whilst I agree (to some extent) that rolling out the most popular ships first may not make a lot of sense, this is surely going to have a much smaller order rate.

Thinking rationally, although it still requires a lot of work, the design is fundamentally not as complex as the previous two. That makes it cheaper to produce and offsets potentially fewer sales.

But they also have enough hero ships to last many years already, Enterprise, ENT D, ENT E, ENT B/Excelsior, Voyager, Reliant. That's already 6/7 years of future production and likely guaranteed high volume sales.

It's great for TOS fans of course, I'm just a little perplexed. It has killed some of the momentum, for me at least.

I hope I'm wrong and it's a roaring success.

Yeah, totally agree. And if it's cheaper to produce, why the price increase?

Killed my momentum as well.

This was the one ship in 1:350 I wanted the most, and I'm ecstatic that they decided to take a chance and go with the D7. To be honest, my second choice would have been a K'Tinga/Kronos, so I hope they decide to pair that one up with the TMP Enterprise as well. I would be perfectly happy with just those four ships.
