I thought I would start a thread on my Klingon D7 build.
It’s all 3d printed from Ian Hughes files from patreon. I printed it all in abs.

I glued it together with acetone and filled gaps with acetone and abs mix.

Nice build! Love the D7
I have contracted a fellow member here to make me a set of files for a studio scale K’Tinga the 4 footer. Which I will build out of fiberglass and although I’m not a kit maker I will offer a few “kits” to offset the costs as I don’t want the end result to be a resin print on something that large. If tipped over instant shatter and I don’t want 3d print lines either so I’ll end up making a fiberglass plug. So is your build all abs? I presume it’s a FDM printer so are the print lines present?
Eager to see more on this!

Thanks, yeah it’s all fdm. Printed on a Bambu P1S.
There’s no layer lines visible. It’s all abs.
I brushed the whole thing with acetone then loads of sanding and filling and more sanding.
I look forward to seeing the K’Tinga when it’s done.
I did think about making molds to fibreglass this but never got around to it.

I always thought that printing with ABS had it's issues. I guess not not on a Bambu P1S.

It can be tricky with warping. As long as all the cooling is turned off and the printer is enclosed it can be ok.
There was a little warping on the earlier sections before I realised an internal fan was coming on, but due to the simple ish design of the k7 it was easy enough to fill.

Now, the old AMT K't'inga...the raised bits too aggressive--but did the TMP cobra heads look a bit narrow as compared to the TOS type D-7's like yours?

It might be nice to have K't'inga details on your 4 foot model to see how that looks.
