good job on those metal casts

Merci beaucoup! I was so surprised to see the lettering come out!

I have to be careful to work slowly on these when I drill.. they heat up real easily lol

Well, I’m slowly destroying this mold. I already cast some resin ones with screws embedded in the tail, but today I got a cheap crucible and went ahead with my original plan!

I’m thinking I get one of those cheap sand boxes if I want to keep this up. You make the mold each time right?

Anyway I’m also thinking I might cut, drill and tap the ends for the screw thread… we’ll see. I’m making a few and I’ll put extras out there for people

Never attempted Metal casting, this is a good step by step and tempting me to make the jump!

I wanted to share this after glancing at it tonight. A few weeks ago I was allowed a table at a local engineering fair and I made a display of some of my favorite castings. The description corresponds to each part and tells the real world part source.
