Your creations are always worth the time and money..If the additional work and cost makes it that much better of a prop, I'm all for it!

Thanks, but the only lighting up on this prop, will be the All-Seeing Eye.

It's already complicated enough creating this thing as it is. As most of us know, this prop has been cursed since the movie first came out, with multiple members trying to build it and giving up. Just doing the switch to light the eye up is making my hair fall out...:wacko

Great prop! One of my favourites. It just struck me as I read through your thread ( I dunno if this is accurate or if my mind is playing tricks), but I seem to recall watching the extras on the original movie DVD and I'm sure they mentioned something about using a certain paper-like material that conducts an electrical current that makes the paper glow for the internal illumination.

You're probably already aware of this in the event that my mind isn't playing tricks...

Wow great link, electroluminescent sheet, I used this before to light up architecture models and eliminate direct glow from leds. Really nice tip, gotta love this forum. This is one of the most intricate builds I've seen, amazing work.

Thanks for the tip, but EL sheet is not going to work with what I'm trying to achieve with this prop. For one, all the dials (circles) turn individually. You can't do that with the EL sheet.

Have you got the result you wanted from the circuitry of this cursed project?
I understand if other props including the NT pipe takes priority for the time being ;)

I'm still working on it as I do the NT Pipe run. So far, what I was doing required too much power, and I couldn't squeeze the batteries needed in the little space that I had available. So, I'll be reducing the amount of LEDs and hoping that will work next.
As soon as the NT Pipe run is finished, I'll be able to get back on this full-time.

It's been great to watch this develop over the last year or so. Knowing the amazing quality of your other props, I'll continue to keep an eye on this! Keep up the great work!

I noticed the circular frame that surrounds the central piece is shiny in the first screencap, and rough-looking metal in the second screencap.

Which are you aiming for? :eek

This is also one of my "holy grail" props. Heh. just now found out you are working on it. I was bummed the original went for over 10k in the auction last year ( they passed my 5k pretty quickly). Looking forward to whatever you put out...but knowing your past work....it will be another showpiece. ...waiting impatiently :cool:
