Tom Cruise is reprising "Maverick" role in Top Gun sequel

The Final Countdown is 1000 times better. Would rather see a sequel to that!

I doubt I will ever see a fighter pilot film done right in the modern era.
Vietnam or Korea would lent itself to some remarkable material, but alas.

Calling it now. Goose's kid is all grown up and wants to be a fighter pilot.

Chronologically, that'd pose a problem.

In 1986, Goose's kid was approximately five years old or thereabouts. If the sequel were present day, Scott Bradshaw would be 34 years old.

Kinda late in life to decide on a career as a military pilot I would think...

Okay, so Goose's kid is all grown-up and already a fighter pilot. Or maybe a drone pilot.

Or they fudge the timeline. Big deal.

Who the hell wants to play with the boys? :lol

I enjoy playing with the young ladies myself! :D

I'm with you, but well uh this is the new Navy so who knows...

These days the CGI animators can make the Millennium Falcon dogfight with TIE-fighters, at low altitude over the desert in broad daylight.

I don't think it will be a problem to make the Top Gun 2 enemy planes look like real MIGs.

Still I'd rather have them pay a friendly country to lend them some Migs. I know we cross train with several former Soviet countries because they fly Russian aircraft. I'm not sure if they ever come to the U.S. for that though.

Val Kilmer playing beach volleyball. His skin glistening as he oozes pure butter, a bead of sweat trickles between his Man-Boobs. After that the Jet CGI could be crap and no one would notice having gouged out their eyes.

So much has changed since.
Time for a modern re-imagining, Maverisha, the transgendered fighter pilot.
Tom Cruise is up to this task.
But keep the awesome flight deck crowd celebrations going on when your still recovering aircraft
in combat, as nod to the original for tradition.

Credit Tom Cruise (or L. Ron Hubbard), for looking damn good at age 55.

There's the explanation. Tom Purged his bad Thetans, and they went over and inhabited Val Kilmer.

Still I'd rather have them pay a friendly country to lend them some MiGs. I know we cross train with several former Soviet countries because they fly Russian aircraft. I'm not sure if they ever come to the U.S. for that though.

Not impossible since there are members of NATO now that fly MiGs and Sukhois and not to mention that since the Desert Storm we have a few of our own, but we could definitely ask some friends and borrow their MiGs and Sukhois.

Given that it's 30 years later, wouldn't Maverick be a little old to be still flying? At this point wouldn't he be a 4 stripe Captain and be either a CAG or the skipper of a carrier?

The Daily Fail strikes again... Anyone want to guess what's wrong with this picture?

The caption says F-16, but the planes are F-15's

Not just F-15s but F-15E Strike Eagles.

I see two options:
1. He's running the school
2. He's taking over Michael Ironside's role.

Outside chance it is his kid that goes to the school, does horrible so he has to go there and straighten him out.

maverick as top gun teacher, some hotshot pilot stealing the show. muscled dudes playing beach volleyball.

or could be totaly different ofcourse :p

ps, young hotshot flyer doing a fly-by and maverick spills coffee over his shirt. :D

yah but that applies only if they do it in real time which movie sequels usually don't

we dont have to ask countries to borrow any migs.........there are plenty flying right here in america. theres a dude in quicy, il who owns 2 mig-29's and there were 2 su-27's brought over from overseas flying somewhere in america.
