Hello Everyone,
My name is Christopher Cerillo and I live in Southern California. Although I have not been in the Prop Community for as long as many of you have, I did follow the RPF and it's posts for quite some time. Even before joining the Fold, while deployed to Iraq (where I first came upon this Forum in 2005) I was on the Internet viewing many of the props that have been displayed and discussed with great enthusisam. I have always held a great respect to the quality of work that has been done here and It is within this reguard that I'm writting to you a review of TMP's Vader's Softparts to ensure that should any of you new to the prop community have questions, doubts or just sitting on the fence about the quality of his work You can be rest assured that the money you spend will be well worth it.

As I was doing research on making my ANH Vader (It took a year to work this out) I came accross many names in referance to the soft parts needed in completeing my Vader and while there were people who offered a Cape here or a cod there, The review of the work was fragmented at best and left me with alot of unanswered questions, "Where is it made? What Leather was used?" Was it dyed? What threading was used? Will the Mix'n and matching of parts stand out one from the other? and so on. As for as a complete set of softparts, No one was offering any until I heard of TMP. I inquired about his name and it came up time and time again. I knew this couldn't be a coincidence, so after talking to a few members I was able to get a hold of him and from day one I was treated as if I were the only customer, He even called me all the way from Norway, something he didn't have to do but did anyway.

Construction of the Suit:
When I sent the measurements John would double check them and if it didn't sound right or correspond to charts from the Factory he would let me know right away. (How many people would go out of their way to double check your measurements and keep making sure they're right? Now I know some may say that's your reponsibility, but we can all make mistakes )

During Construction of the suit:
I was constanlty updated on the status of my order. (Please keep in mind this wasn't a weekly thing, It was every other week, also note that I was informed well in advance that it would take a least two months from start to finish. It was done well before I anticipated )

Completion Notification:
I posted a thread here and was notified via private and public that they were done. (As most of you here know John better then me I left this as an open ended question on the thread. )

Shipment Notification:
I recieved my Tracking No# but my item arrived before I needed to Track it. ( TALK ABOUT FAST! )

Quality of Workmenship:
I opened the box and the room filled with the smell of Leather. Each peice was well packed seperated and marked. As for accuracy I ran to the computer and looked up each peice one by one and without a doubt "IT'S THE REAL DEAL." The Cod alone is IDENTICAL to ANH, it even has the overlapping on the trim within the Cod in the EXACT same place.
The Cape and Inner Robe's Material are very sturdy and the weaving is a fine interwoven. The Cape's Lining dose not take away from the cape itself in fact at first Inspection you can't even tell it's there. The three piece body suit is amazing and the stitching is spot on.

Overall, I'ld say this was well worth the wait and it's the best suit available. Some will say it's pricey and others will dispute the claim, but I CAN ASSURE THAT YOU WON'T FIND A COMPLETE SET FOR SOFTPARTS OF THIS KIND OF QUALITY ANYWHERE.

But don't take my word for it:
For those of you who bought TMP's Complete suits and Pieces. Please chime in with your imputs and thoughts. Thanks C

Re: TMP Darth Vader Softparts ( A Rewiew)

I have a TMP suit which I bought last year. Nice suit. Great quality and at the moment the best you can buy. I also bought a cod. Good quality, although I have to confess to upgrading it.

I think there are minor differences once we get into the whole accuracy debate, my main bother is the 1" spacing on the shirt for my preferred Vader: ESB. I think that needs to be slightly over an inch if I'm not wrong after researching this briefly, discounting the Anderson suit. Overall it's a nice suit and once you crinkle it up and give it that "Vader look" even better.

As for the wait, sometimes you gotta be patient for the good stuff and I do find customer service can vary. As of right now until someone can offer a more accurate suit at a more reasonable price TMP has the market :thumbsup

Re: TMP Darth Vader Softparts ( A Rewiew)

Hello All, C here again; and as promised here are the pics, Now please excuse some minor details (cape pushed to the front, wind, blew in, and my lifts aren't done yet, (I'm 6',. with armor 6' 2",. going for 6' 5" ) as this is still a WIP, but as I wrote eariler about TMP'S FANTASTIC!!!!!! work, You have to see it in action, rather then words. So as I said before in a past post here they are. I really wanted to work all the kinks out before hand, but I promised a few members as the 501st to take part in LEGOLAND'S STAR WARS 30 YR CELEBRATION.
and I have to tell ya it was fun for all!

If you would like to know the makers for all the parts, please let me kow and I'll give the info, but I'm sure with the People in this forum you'll be able to spot it in no time. Enjoy C
