TMNT 2014 DONNIE and MIKEY Costume Build!

So when you glued the thicker "muscle" foam on, did you sculpt it before or after you had it applied?

I can't get over how good it looks, I would really love to use this technique myself

I cut the sponge foam with cutter and scissors. The magic happens when you pour over contact cement on sponge foam. when contact cement dries on the sponge foam, you can somehow "SCULPT" the foam like clay. well not really like clay but you can somehow smoothen the pores and slighty sculpt the sharp edges to mimic muscle shapes. Im not really sure if Contact cement is available Overseas but it is usually used to glue soles on shoes.

well someone has commissioned me to make just the Leonardo and Rafael heads so hopefully I can properly document the process this time so I can share how I did it and hopefully you guys can apply the idea on other props. so stay tuned. :)

If you could tell us step by step how you sculpted and assembled the sponge foam body pieces that would be really helpful and appreciated. In fact these are looking so great they actually pushed forward my creature project I've been reluctant to finally take on so any tips and guides would be invaluable right now.

These suits look awesome!! Would love more details on how they were made. By any chance do you have templates? I would be interested in doing this on my own. If you do not mind my asking how much would you charge for the upper torso and a head more like the 90's version? If you want to shoot me a pm rather than posting prices here feel free.

totally subscribing to this thread-awesome builds and I look forward to the next two builds-you sir are inspirational!
