TMNT 1990 film playing in some theaters for the 35th Anniversary

Turns out there are two novelizations.

One by Dave Morris from a UK release, and then a kid abbreviated version done in the US by B. B. Hiller.

I received the Hiller one a few days ago... and it is indeed short - reviews call it surface level writing and simplified... hope the other one is a more proper movie novel adaption, similar to the '89 Batman novelization. We'll see.

Heres a pic I just saw today.
Says Shredder best up the guys that tried to rob April and failed. I would love to see all the cut content, even if not restored in the film....although that would sure be awesome as well.

I was told these scene was the “initiation” scene, you had to grab the red head band from shredder with out being touched.

It the movie this is cut and they just show him putting the head band on the thug who was just initiated

I don’t know if there’s any truth to anything I just said, just want I’ve read and seen on YouTube

Yeah....either of them could be true, or something different all together. No idea really....and why it would be cool to see the outtakes to then know.

Going through an old folder....found these.
Of course this being the 2nd film, but still always loved Super Shredder, just too bad how he was handled in the one...at least the games gave him a better fight.
I had wanted to print this on thr front of a shirt.

And this one the back of the shirt.
Silhouette I took from TMNT4: Turtles in Time.

Also got this from the game as well, but I redrew it in photoshop. I have a higher res one somewhere on my computer.

I also read there was more of the Casey jones fight

When raph is chasing him, Casey ends up in a dead end ally and raph beats him pretty good

Ahh yes, 'Super Shredder' . . .

That was some powerful ooze. It not only mutated his body, it also jazzed up his metal armor.
The movie had a line that he drank it, but the games showed him pouring it over himself, which makes the most sense of something that doesn't make sense as the whole franchise anyways.

The scene is on youtube. If I remember correctly of what was said, you may both be right. It's a rite of passage for the thugs who failed the theft April walked in on.

The scene wasn't very well filmed, if I recall. It was at weird angles. So may not be from the main unit, but back-up cameras.

Its too bad parents complained about the violence a d all.
Although, I understand where they were coming from, to a point.

People complained about the violence (of the first one). But I think it was partly the general tone. It looked & felt like a PG-13 movie that was edited down to PG.

I get the violence… but I will tell you my all time favorite scene is them fighting the shredder, and Leo finally landing a strike on him after shredder has held off all 4 turtles…

Every time I see the scene it’s so powerful to me

They are all trying like hell and FINALLY Leo gets one hit

. . . And once Shreddy gets hit, he runs out of patience and disarms them. Just like Vader did with Luke in ESB.

Shredder & Splinter felt like a bit of a Vader & Yoda ripoff in the movie. But then, Vader & Yoda were eastern-inspired figures in the first place. It's all stock mythology stuff.

I remember it that way too and I believe that is how the scene was explained in the novelization. My only memory of it lol.
