T'is the season! Luke's Holiday Special lightsaber!

.

I like to think there was some conflagration where one of the heard "Graflex" and bought the wrong one... kinda like all those people trying to get $500 for Graflites on eBay.

My exact belief

As for the grips, I see 7. one side seems to be nicely, and other side seems to be the “oh crap can’t fit all 7, jam these suckers closer together” side

There is also some areas in between the track that looks like it’s missing paint. Trent and I have looked over this

I wonder if some track feel off and needed to be re glued

I’m gonna start one night towards the end of the week on some tutorials and videos, it will be fun!

That's honestly what I've been assuming as well. Like, they knew enough to know it was a graflex camera flash, and then they were winging it after that point.

“Hey, man, run to the antique store and grab a Graflex flashgun so we can recreate Luke’s lightsaber for this photoshoot.”

(20 minutes later)

“What’s this? This doesn’t match the photos!”

- “I dunno, boss, the guy at the shop said it was a 3-cell. Look, it even says ‘Graflex’ on the side.”

“Okay, great, whatever. Just slap some stuff on it to make it look like the one in the photos.”

I guarantee that is EXACTLY what happened.

That’s probably the truth right there!

...with toilet paper a la SPACEBALLS: STAR WARS- THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL ROLL.

I could name a few other certain SW projects which deserve their own rolls, but I’m holding my tongue...er...fingers.

...there should be a project run for HS toilet paper...and maybe those other, unnamed projects. I think they’d sell like gangbusters.

Guys I’m editing the new Holiday Special series tonight, hoping to post it tonight or tomorrow

Act now if you want to have the most accurate HS saber!! grab them in Trent’s shop before he retires these!!

I can’t wait to check it out!

Y’know, the revelation of the HS saber being used for that ESB insert shot hasn’t sat well with me.

It just doesn’t feel right. Yes, it was an insert shot. Yes, the shot in the finished film is so close-up that you can’t see the saber. It’s essentially just a close-up of a gloved hand disconnecting the tow cable.

I kinda think that the disposable HS saber was used only as a stand-in during the lighting and prep of the shot, with the real (and valuable to the production) ESB saber being used for actual filming. Even an ESB stunt would be better to use in an actual shot than the HS saber!

I have Trent's box but got it before he started including the shroud template... Is there 2D art for a shroud template floating around here somewhere? I looked through this thread and Kurtyboy's build and didn't see one.
