Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Wow I absolutely love all your creations. I've started with making my own hat.
And I'm pretty pleased with the outcome so far. Deciding on what lining I want to do on the inside but that's something for later.

Just need to do a little more stitching on the edges and then brainstorm on how I want to create the flower pattern. Maybe check the local market for some fabric.

But then I started thinking ahead about the wooden spools for the belt. But can't seem to find a shop where i can buy such spools. Any suggestions? I was thinking on making them myself :wacko? But then I'll need a wood lathe (think it's called like that in english?) Or find a shop crazy enough to help me make them hehe

I tried skipping through all the 112 pages but I think there were no posts about this. Sorry if my English is bad. I'm trying :$

You should be able to find them in a arts and crafts store. The one by me sells them for a half dollar each. Hope that helps...(n)thumbsup
 
The vest looks nice, Mr. Pinksi. :D

I'm in the planning stages of the battle outfit and a detail I hadn't planned on has come up. A friend on devianart is also working on a Hatter in his battle outfit and one of her watchers brought the picture below to her attention and asked if she was going to do the embroidery on the red vest. My question: is that embroidery? It looks like the bird pin/patch from his other vest to me or a variation of it :confused

Wore my costume out for the first time yesterday to a costume contest at a local corn maze. Happy to say I won most original for the adults, and I also won the over all best costume. Got some cash, a trophy and I was stopped for a TON of photos :) Gonna don the Hatter persona again tomorrow for the costume contest at my college, then end the weekend with a bang hanging around a bunch of other Halloween events!

Keli, awesome job!!!!!

Some realy awesome people from my church invited me to their party, and I have to say, it's the best time I've had for a long while...I don't go to many parties ever...but man...this one was awesome. No alchohol, no crazy enviroment, just fun, hillarious jokes, and awesome costumes. Deffintly the best party I've ever been to.

P.S. - I had never noticed that on the vest either. :(
 
Bah!!! I want to make the battle hatter so bad... but Travis is back to refusing to wear his contacts and with his brown eyes he just looks like a cracked out ginger kid! I don't know why, but I really, REALLY just don't like the costume on him without the contacts. :( Probably 'cause I just want it to be as perfect as possible and when he goes without, I know it's something that's easily remedied but won't be because he's so friggn' stubborn!

So I am in mourning of my Hatter costume that it will probably never see the light of day again.. :( *sigh*
 
Aelynn... I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be willing to buy that thing from you just days before Halloween... Go and make a buck or two and don't let it go to waste!

Aelynn- I'm sorry your Hatter is being uncooperative. Do the contacts bother his eyes or is he just being no fun?
 
I actually noticed something on his vest, but as no one else mentioned it I didn't bother. However, here are my thoughts:

His checkered vest has some brown stainish details on it, that almost looks fuzzy. So it could be something like that,

BUT,

Since I know how Colleen functions, I'll bet Money that it is a gold embroidered Thistle design, as Thistles show up repeatedly in kilts and Scottish culture in general. So I'll bank that there are two thistle stalks that are flanking either side of the vest buttons. (thats what I'm planning anyway)

Thoughts? Yes, no?

This sounds like such a great idea! Chad, not only are you incredibly talented but you're such a visionary! Seriously!

Re: T's hatter costume. I actually threatened to sell it and he just said ' well if that's what you want then do it! ' BLAH. It absolutely breaks my heart into a thousand pieces that he doesn't like it as much as I do. I don't know if I could sell it... I have serious, SERIOUS issues with sentimentality. I'm one of those people that cry when they see discarded stuffed animals. xD

He's also ridiculously skinny, so I don't know that it would fit anyone else. :lol

But if it does come to that point, here'll be the first place I post!

*sigh* I was just so, SO happy with the final product of that and put my heart and soul into it that I wanted him to like it as much as I do. Especially since this year is the year for Hatter and he'd rather wear his inaccurate Jack that he wears everyone.

Anyways...Pinski, he says the contacts bother him. They don't hurt but he 'can feel them in there'. He's just nitpicky and a softie I guess. I got blue UV ones for my succubus and I actually have an astigmatism ( one eye is slightly off round ) so the contact moves around and sometimes looks like I have a lazy eye BUT I'M WEARING THEM ANYWAYS. I guess girls really do just have higher tolerance levels. =p

Oh well... working hard on getting Hook wearable for Halloween ( won't be 100% complete since the buttons STILL aren't here... ) so we can both be pleased with what he's wearing. Though, since I made it all anyways, I think it should be my call. :love Hahhaha

I think you may be right, Chad. I googled it and saw several designs that definately resemble what's on the vest.
