Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Not that I really have time for a project like this, but just curious if there would be any interest if I were to create a custom Mad Hatter kilt pin cast in pewter?

Here is a rough sketch of my idea. (sorry for crappy cell quality)

Technically its 3-4 different colors depending on the scene, in the queens' workroom the blue side has green in it and the lavender side tends to have pinks in it from time to time.

I see it as 4 ... on the left the top is purple and the bottom is pink, on the right the top is blue and the bottom is a rusty red. I think the promo pic is the best reference for colour...

I think it's pretty easily noticeable and when applied right, it really does amp up the effect. Most people have gotten it, or close, but I guess it never hurts to throw a reminder out there. =3

CV, Eeeeeeeeeeek! It's going to be beautiful! I can't wait to start mine now! The only thing is, since I'm probably rocking some armor or the red Alice for Halloween, my friend will be wearing the WQ and she's about 3 sizes bigger than me so I'll have to figure out something to make it more adjustable in size. It worked well with a Scarlett dress I made for me/her, since the corset laced up in the back and the base dress was almost shift style but I'm thinking it'll be trickier for Mirana since it's one piece. Hmm...

I am pretty sure that Mirana's gown is two pieces as well if not three; the bodice and the skirt with the apron. Not sure if the apron is separate but at this point I think I am going to make it separate for the big bow in the back. I'd make the bodice lace up in the back (I prefer laced bodices anyway) and just put a modesty panel in there for your friend which you can remove when you wear it. :) The skirt you can just adjust the closure to fit.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I'm on my way to another craft store after work to look for some more accurate interference paints after a lead from an artist friend.

Well, I went to three different stores looking for interference paint for the daisies but had no luck. Going to a high(er) end art store after work today; hopefully I'll find something there.

Yesterday wasn't a total bust though; found these on 50% off sale:

Pearl trim (obvious) and organza ribbon for fraying to make trim!

I use Pearl-ex. They make the best interference powders around and they can be mixed with just about anything!

So I decided to sculpt a new diamond whistle hat pin the other day :)

Here is a quick picture blog of my process:

I got so excited I pulled the casts a bit too early and I lost some of the detail on the pin heads. Oh well. Maybe next time I'll have more patience!

Added a base coat of black, almost there!

The finished product!
