Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

LOL, I hadn't noticed the coat color, but I did see the tie perk up. I wish I had a tie that did that! :D

I suppose I'll follow suit (. . . get it? haha) and post some pics of my costume thus far.

BTW - Thanks to Chadrificus for my completely awesome vest!!! He does top notch work! :)

Still on the list of ToDo's:

- Distress boots
- Modify pants w/lace and flare the bottoms
- Redo the thread belt to make it more screen accurate
- Sew down the bird patch and fix the colors on it (might add some gold beads to it as well)
- Add mechanism to the bow tie to make it "perk up"
- Rework the Hat

Then it's onward to the Battle Outfit!

Here is a sneak peek of what I have so far:

NICE, Soulinertia! *O* Love the artsy photo-taking too. ;) Wish I could afford one of your ties, they're beautiful!

I'm wondering...why is everyone using ribbon in betwen the checkerboard on the vest? Is there a good picture of this? To me, in the costume shot, and even the exhibit it looks to like it's 2 lines of pinstriping... Can anyone link me to a good shot of the vest that shows the ribbon?

Where'd'ya end up getting the sparron?

I decided to try out the eye embiggenment in PS:

Nice photoshop, Nick! I think I'll be spending a couple hours doing that after opening day when we wear our costumes again. >_>

Goodness, I'm addicted to these forums today. And I wonder why it takes me so long to finish anything...

But I had a success of astronomical levels ( to me, anyways )!!! I changed the colour of an acrylic chenille yarn for my trim from red ( which was supposed to be burgundy but photographed RED ) to deep maroony purpley browny burgundy!

Huzzah!!!

So, two very dirty hands, a ruined shoebox and bowl and minor stains on my light coloured carpet and the colour is finally changed. And sticking. And should continue to do so. Now I'm even more excited to get to the detailing of this beast but still have so far to go... :(

Tomorrow is installing-the-lining day...ugh...

I actually put a perking mechanism in my tie, when I turn a button on my vest it droops, and I release it pops back into place.

I LOVE the new buttons you put on your vest, Fatal. I looked at it and was like "wow I like how he did the vest..." and then I realized I had made it, and felt like a total boob.

So, anyone have any idea what fabric the jacket is?
I've seen it done in a few different kinds but it only convinces me it isn't any of them. From the original promo image I was thinking a really, really ruined suede. But I'm not too sure.
I'll probably try it in suede just to put my theories to rest and see how it turns out.

My contribution to the hatter community - :)

Here is a stitch template I threw together for the pants if anyone else is looking to make a pair of their own.

OK SO I desperatly need Hatter socks ASAP and don't have time to do a ton of hunting, anybody got any direct links to the most screen accurate stuff?

Chad, department stores are your best and fastest bet. Ladies socks, though. S'where I found Travis'! :) Conveniently, and quite obviously, I have an extra of each. But I don't know if I could get them to you in time...aaand I'm not exactly sure where they are either...buried somewhere in my costuming closet...which is a lot worse than it sounds. Ha!

Otherwise, check sockdreams and ebay! They have LOOOTS to choose from.
