Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Check this out, my mom brought it to me and asked me to take a look at it. I think it would make a good base for the blue coat. Although it doesn't appear so in the pictures, the color matches the "kilt picture" quite close. :D

I'm not for sure how cuffs could be devised...But I know she said she could take the sleeves out a little bit more to make them longer for me. And I'm also thinking the sleeve things could be made into make-shift pocket flaps. To bad the buttons are set for women...But anyway...Thoughts on how to make it better? (Besides not use it? :lol) I'm going to keep looking, but to have a blue coat just in case is always a good thing!)

I'm hoping she'll be my number 7 costume from this movie... @_@ And it looks like we'll be getting spoon fed by her in 3D...lol cute idea. I'm sorry, but I LOVE gimmicky 3D when it fits.

Currently gluing all of the gingham squares on my new Hatter vest...I hate using fabric glue. It works great but is so messy...I was going to go the iron fusing route but my Fabric store only had the most expensive kind left at $15/m and it was only about 12 inches wide. :( This way at least I don't have to wait to start it and it's free!

I have to apply the squares seperately since I'm not lining them with ribbon, instead I'm double pinstriping a checkerboard through the spaces between. I think it'll look super sharp and snazzy when it's done! Pics tonight hopefully...

Ooo, that doesn't sound good UM. :confused

Any thoughts on the above coat I have guys? :p

CJS, that will look great! That's what I initially had in mind myself but I don't have very steady hands so once this idea came about, I went with it.

I was just gluing down the squares on the second half of the front and I RAN OUT! ugh. I was hoping the cutting days were done but it seems I was mistaken. Back to that, now!

!!!!! WHERE DID YOU FIND THOSE SCREENSHOTS!? I NEED TO SEEEEEEEEEEE IT!!!!!!!!!! ( the sneak peek )

Jodo, I think that coat will work GREAT!!! It's a little bit bright but it can easily take on a darker tone once you rough it up in the aging process... As far as the cuffs...to do it on a budget you could simply buy large squares of royal Blue felt, cut out rectangles and wrap them around either by sewing or gluing or iron fusing....whatever your fancy. :) I hate that link I provided...I mean, it's an example of what to use and why I suggested it, it's close in colour and has the same fuzzy texture as your coat but $2.50 a square is just mental. You can usually buy it from dollar stores...walmart...fabric stores...for 50 cents a piece. But that gives you an idea of what I mean. :)

I know felt sounds cheap and kind of lame ( like kindergarten craft time xD ) but I actually make Travis' entire Joker coat out of purple felt and you'd never know it! It looks great when applied or used right. :)

It's from the ABC aired TV spot last night. There will be another one in 3 days on ESPN during the Nuggets vs. Lakers game. And a big Reveal during the SuperBowl!

Aelynn, great idea about the felt! I also though about just making the "outline" where the cuff would be with the fuzzy material that is on the cuffs, pockets, etc. That way I wouldn't even have to make something for the cuffs, use the material that is there, and all I'd have to do is pretend the cuff was there. :lol

I also thought instead of having buttons on just the one side...Like a ladies coat. Mabey replacing them, and adding buttons to the other side as well. Mabey in between the button holes. Just as mad as ever says I!

Soulinertia, are you going to offer coats, etc.?

Maybe just a few. I'm working on a blue one right now. Still deciding if it will be part of a complete costume or separate.

i wish i had ESPN, oh well, as long as you post shots everyone will love you

i have an idea for my vest that involves just cutting square holes in some black stuff and putting the checker underneath, then all the purple stitching will hold those two together

i saw that Toby put a loop lapel on his vest and i kind of dig the idea, but if i can get the pattern right i wont worry about it.

and i totally agree
the gimmicky 3D stuff is fun, as long as its done in such a way that it till looks good in 2D
otherwise is a huge bummer when you get the DVD
cause for some reason they cant get that good 3D onto DVDs and all were left with is the 80s style blue and red 3D that give a lot of people head aches

DANG you work fast!!!!!!

She's so cute in it too!!! Amazing work and tell her she looks fantastic!!!

It's killing me...now I want mine done before the movie and can't wait to go blonde again. @_@
