Thranduil's Armour from the Battle of the Five Armies in the style of a female corset

I am planning on doing a corset in the style of Thranduil's front chest plate and the peplum (?) underneath. I do not want this to look too kiddy or cheap looking, so while metallics are pretty some seem a little flashy. Can anyone recommend fabrics or materials for me, and provide links if possible. Look forward to what guys think will look good, and what would make a good "armour corset." Thanks.

Have you thought about metallic silver leather. There some listed on E-bay.
