Thoughts on Western Union?

So I recently wanted to buy something from the junkyard from a member here and he was really nice during the whole process leading up to buying it. Well after the small details, he said he didn't have paypal and wanted me to pay him through Western Union. I've heard so many negative reviews about WU so I asked him if he was able to make a paypal account so I can send it that way. Ever since that suggestion, he never replied and has been ignoring me even though I see him online.

Sooo my questions are....was he trying to scam me with WU? Can you get your payment disputed? What are your thoughts, especially if you have experience with WU?

I typed in western union reviews on google and the first thing that came up was this yahoo reviewer.

Sounds like a scam.

Western union attracts these kind of deals due to it's model. Don't trust him.

it's not a secure transaction, you have no recourse or protection once they have the cash your loss

Oh lol. Yeaaa I knew something seemed fishy cause he said that the item was already sold but the buyer backed. Now I know why.

I dunno if I should put his name on blast, but if you guys want to know who it is, I can. I just don't want you guys to get scammed too.

Yeah for sure let art or montegar know about this guy so they can deal with it before he becomes and issue.

I'll never pay that way but I'll accept it if they buyer wants to use it. I've had that situation before where the buyer didn't have another way to send the funds.

Certainly don't recommend using it though.
