A while back I Managed to get hold of a watch I'd been chasing for ages. It was a divers watch that was sold from the Equipe Cousteau society in Europe.
The watch was created to celebrate the long service of Cousteau's SP-350 Diving saucer submarine, affectionately known as Denise.
I've worn it a few times but know it'll never get worn a lot so I came up with an idea where I could enjoy the watch every day. (and combine watch collecting with another one of my hobbies- model making).
With the help of some CAD software and armed with a bucket load of photos I built a 3D model of the little sub. My 3D printer is not good enough for this so I sent the model off to Shapeways and a week later got the printed model back
Over the Christmas break I've been finishing and painting the model, now finished I can display the watch and the model in a little display case on my desk where I can see it everyday and enjoy the two.
