The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

They’re not mis-spelled, they’re abbreviated. Chris addressed this somewhere (FB or the Blog) but I couldn’t find it. If I recall the conversation, they made the decision to keep the disc etching to 6 characters. I think to ensure they didn’t show when you rotated the disc to the back.

The function blocks in the lower tray on the screen was limited to the size of the text because the blocks are so small.

I’m explaining all of this from memory of an old conversation.
There is room on the screen.
If you want to argue that the screen should match the disc, I suppose I could buy that.
Either way, it isn't OCD.

I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5, I am one with the tricorder, and the tricorder is with me, press F5.....

How do you know its not spelled different in the 24th century?

Extra vowels are effectively inefficient, they have moved passed the need for such inefficiencies and dedicated the extra effort to saving mankind, abolishing War, hunger and poverty, etc.

and by then Amazon will have eliminated logistics entanglements and Galactic Prime members can have their item beamed to them with in 2 minuets.
Just minor note, TOS is set in the 23rd century, not the 24th.

Funny thing about that--the 23rd Century thing wasn't a thing till WOK. Before then, on TOS, the time period was a bit of a moving target. The Air Force officer interrogating Kirk in Tomorrow is Yesterday says, "I'm going to lock you up for 200 years," and Kirk replies, "That ought to be just about right."

But in Squire of Gothos, the time period is 900 years after (more-or-less) the 18th or 19th Century.

The first would put TOS sometime in the mid-22d Century, the second some time in the 27th or 28th.

I'm fine with the 23rd Century, it's a thing now, and we're sort of stuck with it--but let's always remember, it's a total retcon.

Just sayin'.

I thought potato was spelled with an ‘e’ at the end. ;)

Instead of all of this interest in spelling maybe we should be concentrating on where the Tricorders are. This Friday is 5 weeks from the time they posted stock in Chicago with more shipments since that were air shipped. So where are they ? Lost in the swirling maze of past and future .......

I just rewatched the Squire of Gothos, please don't take the date too seriously.

In fact: Repeat to yourself it's just a show, I should really just relax.
