The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Can be spelled offline or off-line but I'm pretty sure in universe it's always been one word without the hyphen

We're getting picky now haha!

Yeah, I've only ever seen it as a compound word.

Found by accident after leaving it on the ship status screen ..... there's a warp screensaver.

NakedMoleRat found that when he got his--I think the got the first one on this board, since he got it directly from Chris after editing Chris's book.

Unfortunately it kicks in even when the tricorder is charging, which spoiled my time-lapse shot when I was making my film.

Steve Pielock on the Fleet Workshop confirmed it does not kick in when the tricorder is in prop mode, so you can display it like that indefinitely (assuming you keep it plugged in). Funny thing, though, I almost never put mine in prop mode. I really like the other displays.

Great review of all the functions

Definitely the best-produced unboxing video yet, and by far.

Missed a couple of tidbits of vital information, though--he complains about the tricorder speaker not being loud enough, but doesn't mention the volume control on the settings screen. And he takes way too long to deal with the motor needing to be turned off when you record a log entry--that shouldn't take more than a couple of seconds, but instead we have to sit through that whole unnecessary counter-demo.

Oh, and the "beaming in" intro along with the speechifying in the opening--cheesy and tedious. Just cut to the chase for cryin' out loud. I scrubbed right through it.

Other than that, very good video and way better than that other clod taking his apart mostly off-camera.

and... *hangar

I guess the show got it wrong then, dictionary spelling is Hangar and there are no alternative spellings shown.
This is what you get when you type in Hanger

At this point it seems fairly clear that some of the suggestions submitted were implemented with little to no word correction and some are not consistent with terminology used in the show.

A fun feature, would have been great if it was more accurate. Unfortunately not even close.

The temperature and humidity sensors reflect conditions inside the tricorder, nearest to the sensors--it's a quirk they've mentioned before (I think on the blog). The barometric pressure sensor, OTOH, is accurate to the environment.

Good to know. Still I'm more likely to want to know the temperature and humidity than I am the current weight and or air pressure in my environment  . Fun addition though (y):)

Apparently, the tricorders left our warehouse on Friday bound for Amazon… but it is a little more complicated than that. In the US internally the shipments are traditionally moved by truck. As you know the US is a big place. The first stop is the Amazon main warehouse hub, after that it is further distributed by Amazon to specific warehouses round the country. This also takes time and is beyond our control. As soon as the stock is ready to be purchased we will send out an email. It is actually unlikely to be this week, even though last week i was hoping that we would have it ready this week.

So probably not this week.

I wonder how Amazon decides to disperse the stock?
I'm guessing they have a good idea of which areas to send them, after all its what they do.

My guess is that they mine the vast buyer data that they have and project where sales will be based on that. They also have specific Wand Co. sales data, so they probably have pretty good idea of where the fanboys are.

Almonds.

It turns out, **CAN** be pronounced Ammonds. It's in the dictionary with the alternate pronunciation. That's right. The ALM in almonds is like the ALM in salmon.

I've always pronounced it "AH-monds." It's probably a regional thing. My mother-in-law, who is from PA, drops the last syllable form "hamburger." She even writes it "hamburg."

BTW, I see on the blog that Amazon UK also restricts shipments to France. That came up earlier (I think in this thread), but I didn't realize it was a thing. So Wand is shipping to France via Amazon.de. Interesting.
