My post, responding to Dunsel wondering about a Phaser reissue:

I’m no expert, and someone from Wand may have a completely different answer now, but they’re said in the past that reissuing the phaser would likely be a total redesign, since many (if not all) of the components were end-of-life years ago. That up-front reinvestment, plus the minimum factory order of 10,000, and demand being less than that, has made it unlikely. But they’ve also said never say never. I’d LOVE to see a full-blown landing party kit even with similar packaging to the old AMT model kit, but I think I’d have to pass because even if the pricing per unit remains about the same or slightly discounted, that would still put the price point at over $600. Even if less than that, I’d be paying whatever it is for duplicates of props I already have plus a cool box. Fun idea, but not for me I’m afraid. One thing I *would* pay for, though, would be a small poster recreating the old AMT box art with beauty shots of the Wand replicas. I would absolutely love that.

All good assumptions, but if the tricorder goes well, redesigning the inside of the Phase for a new production run would not be out of the question. It’s just not something we are planning to do right now.

So not at all a statement from him about a "field exploration set," but at least they're still not ruling out a Phaser reissue if the tricorder sells well! So let's snap up some units! :D

Yeah, they've always been outstanding with me--Charlotte once held my hand through a comm battery replacement!--and every post I've seen about them says the same. They consistently hit it out of the park on customer service.

Same! Charlotte has helped me a few times. Sonic Screwdriver battery replacement. Phaser Dilithium chamber cover replacement. Comm charging issue. They've always been super helpful.

Important Prop Safety PSA!

If you're dumb enough not to keep your props in a glass-enclosed display case (I certainly am!), then I recommend you get one of these to keep those annoying layers of human skin cells floating around in the air from piling up on your lovely props. This one here is from Walmart, and it only costs a couple of bucks. It's an Elf Total Face makeup brush. If you don't mind being the one dude in the Walmart makeup section, definitely treat yourself (I just wore a cute little flowered number with a pleated skirt and CFM pumps and it was fine).

Get yours in time for Tricorder Season!

It's effective enough to get in all the nooks and crannies, and delicate enough that it won't knock the Swarovski gems off your kydex communicator.

Cuz travelin' through hyperspace ain't like dustin' props, boy!

I think it is pretty cruel, to show off a brush, that requires you to shop at the Rivendell WalMart, to purchase!

You could use a cuticle trimmer and clear nail polish! And STOP biting your nails, for ******’s sake!

Also, forget about your hopes of being a hand model…your hand just isn’t photogenic!

Btw, for dusting I use canned air dusting, and a horsehair (Mr. Ed) shaving cream brush.
