Of course none of us out here, the “unwashed masses” are even the slightest jealous that you both got to cradle these. In the least. At all. A single stinkin’ bit. One frikin’ iota. Even with Knobby jobbies!

I think the kydex relief is spot-on.

Remember. They scan an original prop to get the dimensions of everything, including the Kydex pattern. They don’t scan a replica made with Kydex from 2018!

If memory serves, the tricorder will work off an 18650 type battery which is very popular in the lightsaber community these days. They look like big AA batteries and last through lots of recharges. Easily removed and replaced.
I got a ton of these, many proper performing flashlights these days uses them and I have quite a few.
Also. Tesla batteries are tons of those wired together if I recall correctly.

TWC has specifically stated that the battery is user-replaceable. All you have to do is unscrew the back panel and it's right there at the bottom. I can't remember where they posted this, or I'd look it up and paste it here, but I'm absolutely sure of it. It's a sort of evolution starting with the phaser battery not being accessible at all, the comm battery being replaceable with a great deal of care and the right tools (I've done it), and now the tricorder battery being very simply swappable.

Tricorder Update #21 from The Wand Company. Nothing too Earth-shattering, but nice to hear that they’re getting closer to full production, with preorders hopefully happening by the end of this year.
I’m impressed at the amount of R&D that’s gone into the tricorder, and that they’re anticipating to keep the price at $350.
