The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Would any other company go to these lengths for accuracy and functionality? I think not.
Indeed. Which is why when they did go to that length for accuracy regarding canon colors used on the show, it was surprising when they changed back away from that accuracy.

I for one didn’t care for the pastel version. Looked like Easter colors. And why should the discs match rocker switch colors? It makes more sense that these would match the colors used on the data cards. Which came in a variety of colors. And these discs seem in line with the cards.

And some people are simply surprised when a promised canon-style change is changed again (especially since even Anubis complained about the original colors: "I do agree pastel versions of the colors they have would be better").

So why the HATE for that?

Especially when other changes *are* complained about (see: blue jewel, the white vs tan moire light, the great worry that the scanning noise wouldn't be included, etc) yet don't elicit such attacks. Seems its only a 'crybaby' issue when its not one's own hobby horse being gored.

Quite the change in attitude from 2021 here when such things were discussed with civility instead of attacks - discussions which actually produced the change in colors by Wand in the first place.
I was just having a little lighthearted fun earlier blspro ! It wasn’t directed at you. Regardless, I deleted the comment.

Ran a fun calculation to keep my mind occupied: the MR tricorder was released in 2004 for $349. In today's dollars, that comes to $580.25.

I think we first heard about this, something like 5 years ago.
About four I think. The first update was March of '21, and that was "232 days" after the announcement, which puts it about mid-2020. For me, it's been worth the wait. This thing will blow the doors off the MR, and for about 1/3 less in adjusted dollars. I am super-stoked. :)

Likewise. I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this.

Heck, it would cost at least $300.00 in parts to make a static ‘convention’ tricorder.

Sadly, when I was out of work I had to sell a few things. The phaser was one of them. So I won’t have a complete landing party set.

And at today’s rates. I won’t be able to get one.

So sorry to hear that. But the silver lining is, they haven't ruled out a phaser re-issue. CB said that after the tricorder is out, they're going to take a look at the market and see if it's worth their while to put out the comm and phaser again.
