Just a heads up for anyone in the US paying with a credit card.
I called my CC a few days ago to see if there was any way to make sure the transaction wouldn't be declined due to suspected fraud because it's a large purchase coming from the UK. Amazon hadn't processed the payment yet so there was nothing for them to flag as safe. I asked if I could put any kind of note on my account to expect a certain charge any day from the UK. They said no, but not to worry, there were no "constrictions for international online purchases" and that it would be approved if it was through Amazon UK's legitimate site.
Well, I work up this morning to a declined payment. Amazon tried to process my payment at 5am and my CC immediately declined it as potential fraud.
There was a second "Is this you?" email from my CC so all I had to do was click YES this was intentional and it directed me to reprocess the transaction, which I did. Hopefully it'll go through this time. I'm also on hold to confirm by phone.
All this to say, monitor your email frequently despite what your card company might tell you.
