Re: The Walking Dead series hits the web early

++SPOILERS++

Pretty much non of the original survivors make it in the comics

this vague statement couldnt be any more wrong. while there is a progression where survivors are lost, at 12 graphic novels in, there's still a fair amount of them still alive, and they have moved on considerably.

i enjoyed the episode last night. they really did a good job showing shane's a dick. and there were a few moments where i was totally puckered with "oh crap!" even though i knew he was going to make it. it was fantastic, and i need to find my way near a tv with cable on sunday nights, i also will be buying the dvd set.

the zombie with out the legs he encounters is in the book. and he does go back to put her out of her misery.

ideally, after this episode you want to remember Morgan and Duane Jones, the father and son that moved in to frank's next door house. and remember how "new" to this frank is, watching him now, vs watching him a few seasons from now(if it makes it that long, i enjoyed it, but you cant really tell with television) he will not be the same person.

The only other complaint I had was Shane and Lori being in a "relationship." Which, correct me if I'm wrong in the book, they only "hooked up once" and Shane wanted more.

he wanted more in the book, he wanted more in the series. he called it a relationship on the show while she didnt make any mention to it. just as she acted the same way she does in the book. she's only "with" him to survive, and part of her doing that, is to for lack of better term, put out and play into him wanting to be with her. this is why he goes nuts when frank joins that group, he's no longer the big guy on campus, and he lost his illbegotten girlfriend who isnt into him anyway

Re: The Walking Dead series hits the web early

The deputy making sure his pistol's safety was off. Glocks don't have safeties; Rick, the deputy, and the prop master should know that.
I was ROLLING when they did that. Especially the little *click* they added when he touched the slide-stop. :lol

I have to say I am totally game for this show now! The only thing I didn't like was the 71 GTO Judge being wrecked in the beginning...yeah I know it was probably a clapped out lemans, but any classic car being wrecked in this day and age is sad to me

Yes, I know that... just that on the show, the relationship seems to be a current thing between Shane/Lori whereas, iirc, they had a one night stand... or something very brief.

Sorry guys, Glock introduced the Internal locking system back in '03. Its is a manually activated lock that is located in the back of the pistol's grip. Maybe they didn't have him reaching for the correct spot?

GREAT show.

i dont remember it being brief, i remember it being close to what happened in the show.

Beautifully executed(y)thumbsup I can't wait to see more!!! I am so happy I stayed up to see this.

The Walking Dead...What Do You Think...?

Saw it sunday and i have to say that it was great...Stayed very close to the comic...Feel free to voice in .Thanks

Re: The Walking Dead...What Do You Think...?

It was AWESOME!!! Bet any Zombie flick i can recall recently. Zombie movies are pretty much judged by the "realism" (?) of the zombies, and man,, they did great work. Ill be there with my popcorn next sunday.

Re: The Walking Dead series hits the web early

I don't have cable, but I liked the comic so much, I purchased a season pass on i-tunes.

I really liked how true they remained to Kirkman's story and at the same time how different it was. I was surprised at how much of a jerk Shane is in the show. I never got that impression he was that much of a jerk in the comic book series. I also liked how they expanded on the characters of Morgan and Duane.

As others have already stated, if you like the show, you'll probably really enjoy
the ongoing comic book series. It's on issue 78, but it's better to pick up the trade paperbacks.

Hey folks,

I merged the threads and changed this thread´s title to steer away from the torrent discussions.

That being said, I loved the first episode! I am a big fan of the comics series, one of the best series I have read in years, and it hopefully is translated into one of the best tv shows in recent years!

Just watched the first episode and I'm absolutely loving it. They really didn't hold back on the gore, can rival any Zombie movie out there without a doubt. Can't wait for more, this might just become my favorite show.
