The Walking Dead - Season 6 Discussion

Exactly the same stuff that bugged the hell out of me.

There was some seriously dunderheaded writing going on in this episode.

Seems like there would be a few different ways to lead the zombies away from the wall, even from inside. I was also thinking, even if they just threw rocks at the damn things they would be able to thin down the horde somewhat. Just do something to try and deal with them.

So is Jessie's son Ron (is that right?) going to kill Rick or is he really warming up to him as a kind of father figure? I thought for a minute he was going to try and push Rick off the wall into the walkers.

this was my complaint about the prison as well 50 people sitting around while our heroes do everything with a few newbies thrown like red shirts in a 60's star trek episode .

and next time we see Glenn he better be trying to rip Maggie apart and eat their unborn.

What was the blood running down the walls at the end? Was that supposed to be from the walkers getting crushed as an early warning sign that there getting too much piled up, or was that possibly blood from one of the guards up on the wall who was either taken out, or took themselves out (possibly Spencer?)

I'm surprised this got so little attention. At first I was thinking it was blood for a guard up on the wall, and Spencer would make sense, but it seems like it just started a few feet off the ground. That leads me to believe it's showing the crushing force of the herd against the wall, and imperfections in it.

In regards to "thinning the wall walkers" Rick stated the walkers are pulling guard duty and when the rest of the crew come back they can reroute them. Actually made sense as the place was just attacked by Reavers, I mean, psycho people. What needs to be done is get Steve Zahn to reprise his "That Thing You Do" character for some great comic relief.

Nobody noticed Carl telling the other kid to "stay in the house".

I am not one who thinks Negan's F-bomb usage is integral to his character, so I can just imagine the kind of awesome dialogue they will write for JDM. Negan basically has that same jokey Comedian persona and I think JDM did an awesome job with that character so this just makes perfect sense. I didn't expect this casting in the least, and they had some good people in the running for it, but now that he has been cast I can't wait to see what he's like on screen. Hopefully aside from the F word vernacular he is a little closer to his comic counterpart than the Governor was. I thought Morrisey acted the part well, but I just didn't enjoy the direction they took the characterization.

Yeah, I think Neegan's f-bomb usage is silly and annoying. Makes him a Poochie/Deadpool type character. So having to work around it for the TV actually works for me too. And no, I'm not a prude. Swear like a drunken sailor. But "swearing" is not "characterization" and it feels like teen reader pandering in TWD.

As long as they don't make him say "mother dick" like Abe haha. They can spice up his language with a lot of different phrases, and then throw in some of the funnier things he says without the Fs. I want him to be a joker but not a joke and I think like you said it gets to be a little too Deadpool-y and a lot of media takes that route these days anyway so it's not like it's unique. I would rather we get a slightly less tortured Comedian than Seth Rogen.

(also I forgot the forum rules on swearing so I left out phrases that I expect them to use as substitutes)

So, wait, we're actually going to SEE him this season? Will he just, like, show up and say "Hi. I'm Negan" and then roll credits on the season finale? Because at this rate, it's gonna be a bit before we get to him...

Seems like we may see him and his +1 in the season finale

This was definitely NOT my favorite episode. They have never really got multi-story episodes figured out. This show is so much better with a tighter focus. Where each episode has an artistic style. This felt like a series of scenes unrelated to each other

Thats the issue with having such a large cast. Last night I caught a re-run where they go to Noah's walled community that was raided by the Wolves (which I totally forgot about due to the droll Beth hospital episodes still fresh on my mind) then next episode they all reunite and are walking on the road waiting for rain. Its a lot of cast characters in one place.

With ratings falling and the seventh season in the works, will things wrap up in that seventh season or will they milk it through an eighth and reignite the flame? TWD has done things backwards than the standard fare of killing/writing off main cast at season 3/4 for financial reasons. Instead they have brought more main cast on. Its just too much for one show to follow and keep the average viewer engaged week to week. These days sadly people binge watch with the finger on the button.
Lastly, Fear the Walking Dead, unless its completely overhauled stands no chance of taking up the reigns once TWD is done. Shane clipping hos toenails is more interesting and better written than that show.

I've been enjoying the whole ride through. But I'd like to see about half the cast pictured above killed off by the end of this season. Even though they are all pretty great/strong characters. TWD needs a thorough cleanse to keep things interesting.
