The Walking Dead Season 4

This episode started off a bit chatty for my liking, but ended strong enough. I lost interest in the comic because it became talking heads, just really tedious same old blather. I hope the show doesn't go the same direction.

Hrmm. Maybe she did do it.

It's interesting that Herschel and the kids who have the weakest immune system are the ones who are holding up the best.

Maybe its the pH balance in the human body in old people and younger children that keeps them immune, like in The Andromeda Strain.

I'll have to dig up the interview, but Kirkman said he was researching a strain of the Spanish flu where it actually didn't effect elderly and kids as bad as everyone else.

This episode was so bad on time lines. Time stood still for some zombies and day light became night in a second.

How does a person who is dead not change into a zombie in a few seconds / minutes like normal deaths. Hershel goes into the prison and see the one girl dead on the bed in a open cell. Runs over cause the black chick is down. Has time to set up an IV and chat with her. Then walk down the row of cells to say hi the others before the zombie chick rolls out to start the havoc. What was the girl doing? Sitting in her cell making prison wine while all this was going on? She didn't her any noises? Is Hershel a ninja? The guy glen was working on died and changed in what lets say 5 mins if that. Hershel you can't kill a zombie in front of the kids? Come on they seen it before..also they had time to stap a dead body on cart before it could change as well. How did it change from day light outside with Rick and glen girl to pitch black in like 5 - 10 mins of putting the wood stakes on the fence since the gun shots rang out. They never thought about putting a dead car or anything against the fence as well? Makes for a hell of a wall fixer.

Loved how everyone went ok with Rick when he said carol got booted...ok Ricky no problem. Good thing that dude was eaten by the zombie after he shot the poor girl who saved Hershel. Rick would have drove out into the woods to on his own cause he is too dangerous.

Hate all that stupid human interaction getting in the way of all the killing and zombie killing. I think they shouldn't have even given the characters names. It should just be non stop action from start to finish. Then you can fire the writers and spend the extra money on action scenes! How awesome would that be!? Like reality TV with zombies! T-Dog had it right- quit talking and die quickly. This show also needs more esplosions and popular music. And isn't the cast kind of old? I mean, they're all like a hundred. They should kill em all off and replace em with 23 year olds who dress really fashionably before they die. There also needs to be more sex. And all the 23 year olds should have perfect bodies like they spend all day dieting and working out; and great tans too! And more CGI!!

I liked this episode alot. Decent dialogue and drama... and some much needed gunplay. I understand the need to conserve ammo in the zombie apocalypse but it was nice to see a reason for Herschel to bust out the sawed off shotgun and Carl and Rick lay into the zombie horde with abit of full auto action. And not stupid 80's action movie full auto from the hip with bottomless magazines, I mean short controlled bursts to the pumpkin and a mag change after about 30 rounds too. Hell, I'll even give Rick a pass on calling the charging handle an operating rod.

Why isn't anyone talking about the Governor's return? We're nearly a 1/3 of the way into the season and it is finally getting good.

Dude. Objecting to neverending pretentious, repetitive blather doesn't make a person a baysplosion philistine. ***** H. I bet you liked the Matrix sequels and the Prequel politics too? There's good talk and there's drivel. Walking Dead flirts with drivel at times. All these sanctimonious speeches ain't exactly adding up to Brando in Apocalypse Now.

I like the episode, because of the zombie danger, which is again more prominent here and what I said, that in the 3rd season, they were too easy to kill and no more of a threat. I bet the governor has a lot to do with the rats and the horde penetrating the fences.

I enjoyed how rick went into the kneeling shooting position for all of 3 seconds before standing back up. What's better is that his "kneeling" would of been no more accurate has he been standing.

Actually my problem with those movies were their overblown and ridiculous action secquences. They suffered from thin plots and lack of character development in favor of action. Anakin's quick turn and the relationship between him and Padme seem unbelievable because they move too quickly and lack depth.

Those were also movies that have a little over two hours to tell a story... The pacing will be different. A tv show lasts for several episodes a season. I'll admit there are a few pacing problems, but I don't think it's due to too much dialog. I think they could tell more story in less time with the right editing... And for crying out loud- stop with the dramatic stares! Every episode!

Part of me is ticked that they let the whole Governor thing drag on. It's like watching last season again. They should have killed the guy and got on with it. I almost actually said "This isn't a comic book!" until I remembered it's based on one. :lol Also how in the hell is he just out there camping in tents??? A tent would be the last place I'd sleep in a zombie apocalypse! Even if you figure that his two guys are with him and they are taking turns on watch, it's still sketchy.

When Carl and Rick where using the AR15s to clear out that zombies, I loved when Rick paused and looked at Carl like "Damn, Carl!" :lol

I'm actually amazed they haven't listened to a focus group who said these things.

So its 3 more episodes until the "mid season" finale?

I'm guessing it's a next couple with the back story leading up to the mid-season "final showdown" with the Governer?

Yep. 04x08 - Too Far Gone "After things begin to calm at the prison, Rick and the group face imminent danger." is the mid season finale

Off topic - I'm right up the street from you in Jamison :)
