The Walking Dead Season 3

Didn't Merle seem overly 'zombified' for the amount of time he was dead?

Whats weird about his make up is it looked better off camera, just really weird. Ive seen lighting make or break make up effects but just very odd coloring and application on camera. Im wondering if Rooker was sweating a lot. There was a major hurdle with the facial hair but the brow was just odd.

Rooker has always been one of the most under rated actors so its great to see him getting his due. I can sense him being in a flashback episode snip next season.

Woodbury in the comic (and the prison very nearby) is 52 miles from atlanta. King County is near enough that the government orders all those small counties to come to the big city, hence shane leaving rick and taking the family. So King County could be anywhere around the atlanta area I guess?

Either way, Woodbury/Prison would be at least an hour drive most likely because of the roads before the apoc. And after? I'm sure with all the cars and such, it took probably 2 or more.. so not a "short short" drive. I think Rick took a motorcycle in the comic when he went back to kill "walker" shane..

King County is completely fictional, but given that it was shot in extreme south Georgia - closer to Savannah than Atlanta - I assumed that's where it was fictionally supposed to be placed as well. Woodbury is also fictional, but the prison is called "West Georgia Correctional". Most places that go by "West Georgia" are closer to the Alabama line.

Based on the maps they have shown, I'm assuming Woodbury is no more than a 30 minute drive from the prison. Maybe an hour at most. Assuming the prison is near the Alabama border, probably in the city of Carrolton, King County is at least 3 or 4 hours away.

In the comics, the town is Cynthiana, Kentucky. They do visit Cynthiana again a long time after Rick leaves it in Volume 1, but its well past when the events with the prison. As for the prison, the comics, it was never named, so the "West Georgia Correctional" is something that was specific to the show. It's hard to place where Woodbury and the Prison are in the comics. I do remember that the Walking Dead Wiki once had a map that showed locations of the places in the comics and outlined events on it as well from each comic (but it appears they no longer have it).

So far, Merle, michonne, and Daryl (as cool as he is) have been the poorest written on the whole show. Finally we get some character out of all three!

I'm sorry but Daryl poorly written? I may be a little biased, but Daryl is the most developed character on the show. I could have agreed to you up until Chupacabra. That episode filled Daryl's character out and there has been a lot of small pockets of development since.

Rick is the one who is being poorly written now. You used to know what Rick Grimes was all about. Now he goes from being crazy to normal and back every episode. Getting quite annoying.

Not sure if they will kill carol, that may push Daryl further into crazytown than Rick, plus she had a few lines this week(but then so did T dog before he got chomped)

Yeah... after she had her little scene with Merle, I looked at my husband and said "Bye, Carol, it was nice knowing you." It seems like whenever you have an overlooked background character that suddenly starts getting screen time, that's a sign they're going to be offed soon. Oh, and Glenn and/or Maggie are probably doomed as well now that Glenn's popping the question. :cry

Well, who knows who the writers are going to place in that guard tower for this final episode, but I suspect somebody is gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudged.

To me, the previews look like Rick and the crew were packing up to leave the place. Maybe they've caught walkers and put them in the towers and locked them in to fake the appearance of it being them. I have a funny feeling that the sneak peek scene will have that door that they were about to open expose a ton of walkers, or perhaps some kind of explosive that will take out a bunch of the Gov's men.

Next week will be very interesting if Daryl goes the way I think he will...As said in the movie Tombstone, "It's not revenge he's after. It's a reckoning"

...As said in the movie The Punisher, "It's not revenge he's after. It's a Punishment!" :D

Rick:Daryl where are you going?
Daryl: I'm setting booty traps.
Rick: You mean booby traps?
Daryl: THATS WHAT I SAID! BOOBY TRAPS! God. These Guys!

Blow the roof off the mutha!

Would work with Glen, but glen isn't tricky like Daryl.

When they showed the preview with the tower getting blown I turned to my wife and said "Here's praying that Carl is in there playing sniper."

Carl and Rick will survive, I have no doubt of it. Carol, Herschel, Asskicker and Beth seem likeliest for the chopping block.

I think Tyrese might end up joining the group as their new TBC.

All of Woodbury will otherwise be gone.

Daryl is like the boba fett of the walking dead. He's totally badass, but doesn't have much to work with. He spends a lot of time posing with a cross bow. And both Merle and michonne were finally written like people.

As far as rick goes, I think there's a clause in his contract that only allows him to be written well when his wife (alive or dead) is not on the show
