The Walking Dead Season 3

Just rewatched the episode (a family member missed the first run) and was wondering if anyone else was mildly bugged by the shaky cam in the random song segment.

I really hope that after the prison arc, the story completely diverges from the comic book

Agreed 10000000000%. I am SOO tired of the ...

Same friggin story over and over again. They went from the governor who cut off Ricks arm, brutally raped Michonne, etc etc to yet another power hungry madman. Kidnapping, horrifically beats Glenn to death with a baseball bat, blah blah blah. Basically the story is on repeat until it runs it's course at this point. And let's be honest, Carl would be dead in reality, you don't get your eye and half of your head blown off and live without TRUE urgent care facilities. He is running out of story and is now just rehashing old ones. Time to up the anty or end the series after this last major battle.

I was very irritated when Beth fired the .38 inside the prison. I understand the storyline significance, but firing a gun in a concrete box would cause major hearing loss, possibly rupturing the inner ear, and although unlikely, brain damage from the concussive force hemorraging the brain.

I would've thought after all the angry letters the writers got from the initial prison scenes they would've got it right by now. :facepalm

That's why I don't think that it would work, from a story perspective, to have Rick & gang settle all nice and peacefully in Woodbury, there would be too little tension and too little of them surviving and rebuilding if they did. The only way that it would work is if Woodbury gets nearly gest overrun and gets trashed so that it's lees like Mayberry and more like the prison in that it's tough inside and they still have to worry about food and other supplies.

Probably won't happen, but I envision ... After the Gov attacks and compromises the prison, Rick's group retreats to Morgan's stronghold then counterstrike winning the Woodbury battle; leaving Andrea to run the place. Of course, Rick's group couldn't live there because of too much friction between them and the surviving Woodburyians. As much as I'd love to see the Gov torn apart by zombies, he'll probably be cast out with any supporters unwilling to accept the new peace ... Living to make a reprise at some later time. Maybe have Beth and little ass-kicker stay in Woodbury (she's not much of a fighter anyhow) since they won't be safe on the road.

That's my 2 cents

Not mention the possibility of the round ricocheting around, I'm not entirely certain that any pistol or rifle round short of .50 or .338LPM would embed themselves in the ceiling and instead bounce off and to the floor and bounce off again if it had enough energy.

You and I are pretty much on the same page. This is how I see it as likely happening too, Rick & gang defeating the Governor but not allowed to stay in Woodbury. It makes the most sense and leaves both Woodbury and the Governor around to make a re-appearance later on down the line in S4 or later.

If Rick could handle (sorta) the noise of shooting the zombie inside the tank, I wouldn't worry about the folks inside the prison...

Yet in the previous episode they went to the trouble of Rick telling Carl and Michonne to cover their ears when en route to Morgans undead death trap village

Live and learn. Apart from sheer common sense, Rick knew from the tank just how bad it was. Especially firing a .357 round. On the range that round is loud enough to make my ears ring.

I'm sure inside the prison it got loud but considering how big that room is, I highly doubt they would suffer the incredibly ill effects that Angus mentioned. If anything their ears would be ringing something fierce.

I read the comic in trade format so I'm a few issues behind until they release the next one so I'm a little scared to really check it out in detail in the event someone bites it that I haven't read yet.

comics are way better then the series. The acting can sometimes be over the top and appear like a low budget soup opera.....

Oh I'm very aware. I've been reading it since the first issue came out. I'll take the comic over the show any day of the week. I just wish Tony Moore was still doing the pencils, it would make it just that much more.

Being a huge zombie fan (borderline obsessed), I love the show for what it is.

The size of the room would make very little difference since everything is a hard surface. The best case scenario would be everyone's ears ringing in that room and them being a bit disoriented. However, all were totally unaffected aside from stopping the fight.

Even with ear protection on an indoor range, I've experienced many times people getting startled (occasionally complaining about the noise) by louder rounds being fired ... Particularly when its my Saiga 12. :devil

I want a Crazy episode of high action, gun fights, kung-fu chops, Wu-Tang masters, fire destroying stuff, crossbow snipers and Death! Someone call Chuck Norris!
