The Walking Dead Season 3

Did anyone else notice in the scene where Hearshel walks into the the cell to talk to Maggie, you can clearly see his leg bent up behind him.

I'm liking this hour-long Talking Dead. I still don't like Andrea, but she sort of redeemed herself by trying to calm everyone down. I'm deeply saddened by Rick's lapse of judgement with Merle. There are multiple cell blocks, and Merle could've easily been shoved somewhere else in the prison with Daryl running back and forth between. I also love the duality of the abusive relationships of Daryl/Merle and Carol/Ed.

Glad to see the show is back. Merle REALLY needs to shut the (expletive) up sometimes, and I was so glad to see Rick "deal" with him. :lol

So when Herschel's younger daughter Beth walks in the room and gives Rick a little peck on the cheek, does she have some infatuation there, or was that just innocent?

Poor Carl. Being his age with a zombie apocalypse going on, the whole drama with his parents and Shane, having to shoot Shane, having to kill his own Mother and deal with a new baby sister ... I think he is starting to lust after Beth... and now she flirts with his dad?!

All the more reason Carl will one day be many orders of magnitude more badass than everyone else. Either that or he will be like Heath Ledger's Joker. Lol

Never seen Walking Dead before as I just got satellite a few months ago. I watched the whole darn marathon this weekend. I missed the first episode Friday though I think. God, my arse is sore, but the wife and I loved it, were hooked!

I was surprised how the show really doesn't care who they kill off do they? I mean it's very dramatic. I miss some of the characters that went bye bye.

Sorry can't post spoilers this time around but did anyone see Hines Ward cameo last night?

Can't wait for team Dixon next week ;)

The Beth kiss thing was innocent. She was thankful for Rick bringing her sister back. I do worry about her this season. Her walking around with the baby all the time kind of gives me a sense that a Lori in the comics incident may happen to her.

As Mirror stated, I am also looking forward to the brothers getting some screen time. It's gonna be interesting to see what they can do together

From the weekly ew.com interview with Robert Kirkman:
Is Beth crushing a little on Rick? Or is that my imagination?
You could be seeing something there. I don’t want to spoil anything. But there’s definitely things going on, maybe involving Beth.

I was beginning to think the same thing... But the show has already diverged from the comics at times, so it's hard to say.

LOL, I KNEW that looked like him! I even told my wife: "I think I just saw Hines Ward as a walker!"

She says: "Who?"

I says: *sigh* "The football player that won 'Dancing with the Stars' that time?"

She says: "Oh yeah, I like him."

That's not what you saw. They actually have his leg wrapped in a green sock and they digitally remove it. This process is shown in the "making of" clips on amc.com

I actually enjoyed Talking Dead more than the show last night. Just didn't hit it. Hopefully things will pick up next week.

Well for me, the long wait leading up to last night was worth it! :) Loved it.

I'm not sure my one gripe will be the same for anyone else, but the only thing I didn't care too much for this episode was Andrea's 'speech' to the town folk. It didn't ring as 'authentic' to me at ALL.....felt too much like some weird William Wallace speech, trying to rouse the troops.

And I know the show can't illustrate ALL of the 'evolution' taking place, and the passage of time, but her giving that kind of speech seemed wildly out of place- she truly IS/WAS someone presumably 'passing through', and hardly seemed to have had enough time to integrate into the community and be viewed as a valued member, a member worth LISTENING to at that moment. I actually wouldn't be surprised if people had started murmuring at some point, viewing her as the Governor's 'favored pet' and grown resentful.

Otherwise the episode was ACES. ;)
