The Walking Dead Season 3

I saw this the other day while reading Walking Dead Issue 102. They always have a letter section and saw that Steve Yeun (Glenn) sent a letter to Kirkman regarding
the death of Glenn in issue 100
It's pretty funny

My respect for Steven Yuen just jumped about five octaves. I thought he was great in the celebrity bowling tournament, but this tops it.

Regarding zombie blood and bites, EW Online interviewed Kirkman today and they did ask him about it.

EW: This is a real Comic Book Guy question — but do I gather that if someone swallows a tiny bit of zombie blood they won’t turn into one of the undead? There was a lot of it being sprayed around this episode.

Kirkman: Yeah, people to a certain extent think of zombie blood as being like the blood from Alien. You know, in the Alien movies it’s like, “Oh god, if it touches you, you explode!” or whatever. Whatever it is that turns these people into zombies is in them already. So the idea of getting zombie blood on your face, which happens all the time, and it turning you into a zombie is something that’s just not the case.
Now, that doesn’t make the zombie bite any less lethal. You know, breaking the skin, having that kind of contact with the toxicity that zombie mouths would have, would be something that causes an infection that definitely would lead to your death and then the thing that’s already in you would turn you into a zombie. So there is a science to this, to a certain extent.

EW Although, to be clear, you are not technically a scientist.

Kirkman: No. No, no, no. But I know about everything that scientists know, I’m pretty certain! But anyway, zombie blood is not quite as deadly as a lot of people think. I wouldn’t drink it in high volumes, though.

That actually makes sense. The first walkers would have been people who died right as whatever causes it became active or right immediately before even. And it's a lot creepier to know that you've got that in you than to just have to worry about avoiding all zombie contact.

Like a few others said I'm going to be extremely upset if something happens to Maggie or Glenn as they are pretty much the only characters I like at the moment besides Michonne. I never read the comics/books or whatever, so I have no idea what might happen, but I definitely don't want to see her get raped or anything...

im curious....was the voices on the phone the real actors that portrayed the characters on screen....or were they just voice overs from different actors?
I'm pretty positive that the guy was actually the actor who played Jim, as I recognized the voice right away even though I couldn't place it until Lori said that it was Jim...

As ooSuperman23 said about Jim, yes it was Andrew Rothenberg on the phone, same with Emma Bell as Amy, and Jeryl Prescott as Jacqui, and of course Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori.

The more I think about having Rick and the phone calls now as opposed to the comic really was brilliant. Prior to the phone calls, Rick was completely emotionally drained and even when he was talking to Amy about joining them (in death), she never said "no" just that she would have to ask the others. Then Jim said he had to talk about Lori's death before he "joins". Then Jacqui re-affirms that Rick has to talk about it. Once he talks to Lori and realizes what's going on, Rick ends the call abruptly, that's the push he needs to get back to how he was . Really excellently done if you ask me.

Now who wants to see Rick get a phone call from Sophia, Dale, and Shane? :lol

Ah Shane would have been a good one! I liked the phone calls, i thought it was pretty well done and I hope Rick can pull it together now.

So how dos Little Kick Ass fit into the picture? I her blood pure and not infected? Is she the savior for mankind and in finding a cure? I don't read the comics so I don't know how her character plays our or if she is just a side story.

For those who are wondering about the phone, it is a Western Electric Model 500 rotary phone. I posted the picture of mine here.

I'm not so sure they'd kill a baby on the show. I imagine either the show will end or she'll grow up a bit, but infanticide seems a bit brutal, even for cable TV.

Hmmmm...it would be the single most brutal TV show event in the history of Cable TV:sick....it would probably get the highest viewings if something like that were to happen for the first time on TV...:popcorn

No, brutal would have been having Lori get killed, and when she woke minutes later as a walker, she digs into her own womb and pulls out the living baby and eats it.

THAT would be brutal.

Man I'm a sick puppy.

Right now the show is watered down enough. The baby should have died with Lori to really push Rick over the edge.

I'm interested to see where Merle's character goes. At the time he and Andrea had the chat where he said "how come we never hooked up" I thought that there might be a glimmer of goodness left in him and he might be setup with a story line of grand redemption.

Now, I seriously have my doubts about that. I wonder if he will end up being killed by Daryl because he does something to a group member?

I've never read the comics so all of this is complete conjecture at this point.

Merle is a psychopath. It's truly clear at that. I hope to god Daryl doesn't allow his brother to get to him.
