The Walking Dead Season 3

Disneyland. They spent millions keeping people out that havent paid so I imagine it can keep zombies out as well.

I've thought of that but it's really too hard of an area to secure, too many ways in and out of the public areas of the park and there are quite a few ways to get on the overall property itself. If you could get the people and the resources to secure the overall property and close up all but one or two ways in then you'd have a pretty good place to hole up but you'd probably be just as well or better off by simply securing the Grand Californian Hotel and California Adventure along with it. Though I suspect that CAA is just as porous as Disneyland the advantage would be that being connected to the Grand Californian Hotel you'd have better living conditions than you would at Disneyland.

Let's be honest here folks ... The best places to keep zombies out are the ones designed to keep people in; the higher the security the better. I thought the group moving into that prison was a genius move, but they've thus far pissed it away. They made little effort to secure the perimeter, rebuild fortifications, or stock supplies.

Rick's group manages to find new ways to get themselves killed every episode, and rarely does the death serve a greater purpose (T-dawg exception). I know it would be a very boring TV show watching people work together, cultivate the land, and run SARs for other survivers, but all this talk of abandoning the prison is just crazy ... Unless they stage a coup and takeover Woodbury? That'd be awesome!!

I'd say that a place designed to keep people out is the second best place to hole up, the best would be one of the few places left designed to keep people out, a fort. There aren't that many of them left in the US and probably even fewer that are actually habitable but those that are, esp. the later 19th century ones made of stone would allow you to keep not only walkers out but other humans, like the Governor, out as well.

In the US, real Castles or forts are very rare, and as you mentioned few would be habitable. However, county and state prisons are scattered everywhere. So, unless you know the location, a means of safe travel and access to a suitable fort, bunker or secret military underground stronghold, the best bet "in a pinch" would be to find a prison. If its overrun with too many zombies to reasonably dispatch, then head to the next one. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to stumble upon a "Blast from the Past" style bunker but the reality is thats pretty far fetched.

I never said that forts were the best in terms of access but if I had a choice between the two I'd take the fort. Of course the best would probably be an old fort that's been converted into a prison, then you'd get the best of both worlds.

Someone here stated that they couldn't believe that the Governor could drive up his truck up to the prison without being noticed. I figured out how he could have. Anyone who has driven a car or truck with a stick shift can tell you that it's possible to coast a vehicle to a location. If you go about 50 miles an hour, cut off your engine, ride your clutch, mind your brake when you need too, it's possible to go a ways before you completely lose momentum and come to a complete stop. So, it seems possible for the Governor to pull his truck up to the spot we see it in without drawing attention.

I think the best place to hide from zombies is in plain sight. The DMV, I mean seriously ain't no one getting eatin there. Even zombies have limits.

You all can keep your forts and military bases; my group will be clearing out the Key's one by one; just have to wait for a Hurricane. Provided the zombies from Cuba don't start swimming, all we got to worry about is a bridge. Plenty of islands for everybody! :lol

Also, kill Andrea. It's ridiculous how she thinks she's so important just because she's banging the governor.

How do we even know that the Keys would be safe from any zombies from the lower half of Florida? I'm sorry, but Land of the Dead rings some bells when it comes to this idea.

Key west has Fort East Martello, Fort Zachary Taylor, and the completely secluded and well fortified Fort Jefferson aka The Dry Tortugas. All excellent fall back structures in case zombies really did figure out how to sink and walk. I'm sure the Naval Air Station might have some things to rummage through. Nothing like spending the Apocalypse in paradise. :)

During the zombie apocalypse, I'd take my group up to Banff/Jasper national parks. Surrounded by mountains, it'd get cold during the winter and there are towns up there so supplies wouldn't be a problem. It'd be easy to take out any zombies that venture up there and on top of that there is lots of wild life in the event we need to hunt.

Apocalypse in paradise...hmm? Quick somebody sell that to Jimmy Buffet. I think we haves a new zombie theme song.

come to think of it, LA's skid row may be the best place. The zombies would be so massively confused as to who is and isnt a zombie they would just go around it. For those that have never been through LA's skid row after dusk, imagine the streets of the Walking Dead pilot but with shopping carts. I kid you not.

I saw an article somewhere awhile ago with ideas for zombie proof places to live, not existing places but ideas for purpose built places and one of the best ideas that I saw was a barge train on a river. Think of it, what place would be safer from walkers and hostile humans ala the Governor then on a series of barges or boats attached to each other in the middle of a river? Of course this idea only really works on large river like you have in the Midwest and the East, I don't think that CA has any rivers where that would work well on. Add to that either a Marine Corps Amtrac or Navy LCU and you have and easy and relatively secure means of getting from ship to shore.

:lol:lol:lol...But also...:(:(:(

Alright for those of you that follow the comic, we know that Kirkman has said Rick will not loose a hand...but will he loose something else?

I think it is possible. I would wager what happened to Carl in the comic, will happen to Rick on the show.

I think it's possible that Rick may still lose his hand.

He may not loose his hand but he is definitely loosing his mind.
