The Walking Dead Season 3

Let me get this straight, That WASN"T Lori he shot and stabbed?

They didn't portray that scene very well. I couldn't tell that a zombie ate
her. I thought it was her but she suddenly lost her hair (and clothes). It
was just a confusing scene all around. Wish they thought that one out a
bit more.

Also, the budget saver of Rick killing zombies from thier perspective was
kinda pointless. Slashing at the camera just seemed like a cop out to me.

The rest of the episode was a bit slow. Didn't care for the arena scene at
the end either. Seemed like they needed some time filler. Hopefully next
week picks up a bit.

Correct, it was definitely a poorly executed scene.

Huh.

I don't watch Talking Dead at all afterwards, but Nicotero confirmed that that zombie had eaten Lori?

I guess I didn't interpret that scene that way at ALL and I usually think I'm pretty good with following things.

I just thought he had happened across one of the decaying/less mobile zombies who'd become incapacited enough for Rick to 'manhandle' the way he did. And that Rick just furthered his 'psychotic break' and took out his rage on it.

Though they didn't show it, I assumed that Glenn and maybe somebody else from the group, quietly went in and retrieved Lori's body for burial out in the yard while Rick was wandering around inside. Afterall, that place is enormous so it's not unlikely that he could have been virtually anywhere while Lori was removed. I just thought Rick came upon the scene and identified it as the place of her birth/death because of the bullet casing and blood evidence.

Hasn't it been established that you still need to be alive to some degree for Walkers to descend upon you and eat you? They HAVE confirmed that Carl shot her to prevent turning, so if she was dead, a Walker wouldn't have had any interest in her body.

My husband thought he spotted Rick's Sheriff's bag (the one with the guns) in the Governor's house when Michonne was in there liberating her sword. Anyone else see it? I think it was standing upright against the wall near the closet.

Yeah, Andrea had it when she left the farm. She had it with Michonne until they were taken to Woodbury.

There was definitely police gear in the corner. I caught that too.

This episode was still good.

I got the zombie buffet scene. I didn't really notice the poor makeup or CG. I think the worst part was the zombie arena.

For everyone saying the phone subplot is too soon, I disagree. If anything, now is the best time to add it. You're not going to see Rick this emotionally destroyed for the rest of the season. Also for the phone subplot, they weren't even going to add it all, but they opted as a nod for the comic fans.

After next weeks episode, don't plan on seeing the phone that much more after that.

As for the police gear, I'll double check, I know the scene you're talking about but if I recall, they also showed military gear/weapons. I assumed it was from Merle and company when they took out the national guardsman.

I too found the walker who had eaten Lori scene a bit confusing, plus Rick seemed to shoot it through the cheek and it went down?

Agreed. My wife is refusing to read the comics just for this reason. She does not want to do what almost everyone, including myself, is doing. Comparing the two after every episode. I have to admit, knowing the story from the books kind of kills the show for me as I am often pre-occupied with comparing the two storylines even though they are supposed to be different. This is a good thing though, that means that the whole thing isn't ruined and I can still enjoy the show.

I agree with the phone, it is perfect right now for the show. I do not like the governor storyline though, it is not dark enough for my tastes. The story in the books was jaw droppingly good in my opinion and the show is leaving me wanting in that story. Oh and I REALLY want Andrea to die already! She is annoying me more than Lori at this point, she has got to be the epitome of "dumb assed blonde"

I disagree. I think having the phone happen later, out of the blue, when we don't expect it, would be more jarring. Having it happen now makes too much sense and ties things together too closely. Waiting would have made it more WTF.

Disagree on this as well. For me, Michonne and the Governor were straight out of GI JOE type characters in the comics and as much as you can be pulled out of the "reality" of a story about zombies, they just didn't seem to fit to me as they were cartoonish and completely over the top. Sadly, they have transferred Michonne completely intact from comic to screen and she is every bit as ridiculous on tv as she was in the comic. So far, the Governor has been much more believable as a tv character than he was in the comic book. I do worry about what will happen with him after... well, you know.

We agree there, but my issue is that Andrea has been a completely unlikable character for 3 seasons now, and really has never had a single redeeming moment. The constant "is it because I am a woman?" attitude is so old and tired and just a bit pathetic. Give her something else to be angry about or give her another attitude, if only for a few moments...

I'm telling you, the writers hate women. Kirkman at least gave a balance on the ****ty women and good women in the comics.

I disagree on this. Even in the comics the phone symbolized his mental state and his "coping" mechanisms. To have it play out
out of the blue
not only wouldn't work/fit in the story, it wouldn't even make sense since his emotional state isn't going to get much worse from here on out. As for ties things together, that's the whole point, it ties directly to his mental state.

Regarding the phone....

It'll make even more sense next week on how well it fits :)

I don't get what makes Michonne a GI Joe character. I love her, because she's genre savvy. She knows that when the world's gone to hell, any perfect community left is a false utopia. And her fears are not unfounded.

Love how this series and show is going best show on tv. And it also great that the comics are one of the best written books I've ever read.

I liked the sceen with the walker that had eaten Lori it just made the death of Rick's wife even more painful for him ,he couldn't say good bye and put her to R.I.P and knowing his wife was eaten and Rick also had to deal with the fact that his son had shot his mother when he found the bullet

I got that the walker had eaten Lori, I thought it was executed fairly well. Gross moment though.

TWD is the best thing on TV at the moment - every week is an event and something to look forward to.
