The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

Even an idiot survivalist knows that turning in your defenses (guns) and hanging out in a totally unsecured and unguarded farm house surrounded by woods full of zombies, and a major highway next door with herds of zombies isn't anything but a short term, buying your time, catch your breath situation, not a beg to stay place or a place to even consider for any real length of time... Sorry but the windows are not even boarded up on the house and they run full lights on top of the hill, surrounded by acres of mowed fields... Haven't they went over the fact light attracts, so cover the windows in the previous episodes? Cows grazing in the pasture, nothing like a 1 ton steak diner advertisement for any zombie that happens to be in the area... In the end nothing about that place sells me on it being a safe place to hang out let alone a place to even consider begging to stay... I can fully understand the catch your breath, but at the same time I would be considering real options for long term survival and sustainability...

I think something like a prison might.....oh...wait....nevermind

I think something like a prison might.....oh...wait....nevermind

A prison is hell of a start for a good camp setting, light years ahead of a farm house on the hill...

Like I said they are only a few hundred miles from the Gulf and offshore oil platforms that offer self sustained clean water and power and are isolated by elevation and water, and thus naturally protected places to establish a real long term home and setup a base of operation where I wouldn't hesitate to leave my family for a day or two... Hell if I would leave my family on the no gun zone farm, unprotected as I went for supplies or tried to more forward with life fro even a few hours...

I don't hate the farm house, I hate the perceived 'safe' atmosphere that the characters are falling into, they all know better... When the zombies stumbled upon them at the quarry they packed up and left ASAP, but when a zombie happens to fall into the well a mere hop skip and a jump from the undefended farm house where they can't arm themselves they beg to stay? It simply makes no sense...

Refresh my memory...have you read the comics? :lol :confused

Just WAIT until they get to the prison. Your idea will change.

Also, if they didn't have a hint of stupidity, they wouldn't be really human...nor would we have entertainment by watching them get taken over by zombie hoards :love.

TV series, not comic book, why do I feel like im doing a bad Jack Black impression when I repeatedly say that?

Here is the kicker for you comic book defenders, the fact this has all been previously done and established provides the writers of the tv show with an outcome and forethought going into the script. The chances to overcome plot holes, idiotic instances and head scratching "huh?" were then well ignored. Instead its turning into a formula soap opera with "cliffhanger" endings to each episode.

Comics many times do not transfer to screen. Make the necessary changes. In this case those changes are to de-idiot the characters. Maybe a simple rain shower and they become smart again?

Everyone has missed the most important question that we should all be asking. What about Merle's hand?! If a Walker took a nibble, is it a walking around Atlanta now?

I'm talking about the purported weekly drama TV series, if it's was a 1:1 comic adaptation then you have a point, but because it isn't, I defer you to robstyle's post... Like him I don't care what happened in a comic book, as the series pretends to be more, but it's failing as weekly drama series due to the fact they appear to have done little to elevate it beyond the silliness that is the comics...

You and others just can't understand a very simple basic fact of the situation. They have no idea how many walking dead there are between themselves and the Gulf, nor if the platforms have burnt and fallen over, or if a hurricane might have knocked them out. Do you realize those get evacuated anytime a storm comes through they are moved from location out of storm path, do you know how to do that? Nope, didn't think so, congratulations you just killed your entire group the first hurricane that you won't know is coming. Rick and the rest are safe currently. At most they've seen a few walkers in the forest, two at a time at worst. They know they can handle them in such small groups. They did see a couple hundred walkers though on the road, and the know there are thousands, hundreds of thousands, or MILLIONS of walkers in some locations. But they know they have some safety where they are. They aren't going to take risks when they don't have to. You and others keep saying "oh I'd go do this and we'd all be safe because I'm the smartest and most perfect person in the world" I have a feeling that if you saw your friends and family being ripped apart that you wouldn't be so quick to put them potentially in danger, nor leave them so quickly.

I just can't believe you guys are debating a zombie tv show.

IT'S FUN! I'm not looking for a deep plot here. I look forward to the gore and special FX!...I might just be morbid and sick that way...but eh...*shrugs shoulders* :sleep

They have no idea how many walking dead there are between themselves and the Gulf,

They don't know how many are heading towards the farm either, 100 on the doorstep tomorrow or none?

nor if the platforms have burnt and fallen over, or if a hurricane might have knocked them out.
Or if the house will burst into flames from a lightning strike or get blown away in a tornado... It's not only oil platforms in my equation, it's a better more hospitable climate to live in... Small islands also afford similar protections, as does a boat itself... If the walkers can't swim, anchor your boat out in 20 feet of water, lots to be found in the Gulf or heading south that is beneficial to survival...

Do you realize those get evacuated anytime a storm comes through
Yep as a precautionary step, just like evacuating to a shelter during bad weather vs hanging out at the ranch... The rigs weather out storms just as well as anythign else in almost all cases... And Hurricanes just don't happen, you might not get weeks of advanced warning but you can get basic warnings by simply watching the horizon like sailors for many generations have... It's no different then any bad weather situation...

they are moved from location out of storm path, do you know how to do that?
Not all platforms move, many are anchored to the bedrock...

Nope, didn't think so, congratulations you just killed your entire group
Oops zombies just strolled in the front door of the house full of unarmed people while they slept, and are all over the cultured mowed pasture surrounding the house with no cover or shelter, congratulations you just killed everyone...

the first hurricane that you won't know is coming.
Because, things like bad weather and tornadoes never happen on land? I'll take the dice roll all day on the big hurricane that might happen and might actually hit me vs being surrounded by man eating enemies 24/7...

Rick and the rest are safe currently.
They are not under imminent immediate threat or attack, that is not equal to safe by any stretch...

At most they've seen a few walkers in the forest, two at a time at worst.
And a herd of them on the street, and a bunch just a few miles away at the med trailer... How many does it take to kill someone that is unarmed?

They know they can handle them in such small groups.
Never a certainty, especially when you are forced into close hand to hand combat since you turned in your weapons that afforded attacking/defending at a distance...

They did see a couple hundred walkers though on the road, and the know there are thousands, hundreds of thousands, or MILLIONS of walkers in some locations.
And there are likely place where there are none, pure speculation and ever changing as it's clear they are mobile....

But they know they have some safety where they are.
Being safe there is very speculative at best, they are not under immediate threat not safe, two entirely different things...

They aren't going to take risks when they don't have to.
Yeah, they would never risk turning in there defensive weapons and becoming unarmed sitting ducks in the lighted house on the hill...

You and others keep saying "oh I'd go do this and we'd all be safe because I'm the smartest and most perfect person in the world" I have a feeling that if you saw your friends and family being ripped apart that you wouldn't be so quick to put them potentially in danger, nor leave them so quickly.
I wouldn't be hanging out unarmed on the top of hill with all the lights on pretending I was safe... So yes I would certainly be doing things differently, would it be all perfect hell no, but I know that I wouldn't be doing many of the things they are doing... They basically have everything mankind has left behind at their disposal for the taking, that affords an infinite amount of options...

A girl after my own heart hahaha

Exo, if you seem to have this many gripes with the show, why don't you just not watch it?

Like myself I think Exo is waiting for it to get better yet its getting worse, very quickly and whats making it worse is completely obvious. That being said my favorite zombie outing is Return of the Living Dead. It didnt pretend to be anything its not and did it right.

And that's the difference between those who appreciate the original Dawn of the Dead and those that think the remake is the best zombie movie ever (when all reality, the story was terrible).

I love both. The Walking Dead is pretty terrible, though.
