The Terminator

looking at the great comic costumes on here has inspired me to attempt Deathstroke.my question is, has anyone ever done one of these?..the only real sticking points i see are the boots and his chain armor...the newest pics i've seen of him look like Captain America's chain armor, but it looks like it only covers the area below his chest and his forearms...was considering making "Foamie" chain mail, but if anyone has any ideas, please share them.

Thanks,

Sam

What Deathstroke wears is more of a scalemail than a chainmail. It's visible on his costume from the mid bicep down, just below his pectorals down and his legs. It would be time consuming, but my suggestion would be to cut the scales from vinyl, and sew them on in overlapping, staggered rows.

For the boots, you could do something along the lines of buying a pair of East German military boots on eBay, and build the fold over tops out of vinyl, and then paint them to match the colour of the gauntlets, shorts, belt and mask.

If you see the Captain America Pic on the bottom of this thread:

you'll see that this is how the scales were made on this costume. There's about a 1000 of them hand-cut and hand-sewn. Time consuming, but nothing looks better in my opinion. For all the work you'd put into foamies anyway, I don't think that they wouldn't last very long.

I'd love to see the costume when you're done. Good luck.

good ideas all.....thanks guys....been pondering on this for a few days, and i've got a couple of ideas i'm gonna try, as for the boots, i got several pairs when sportsmans guide had them on sale last year, so that might indeed be the way to go

Good luck with the costume. Deathstroke is my favourite villain, and I've considered the costume myself. I look forward to seeing what you make.
