But to keep it in perspective, it's the longest running primetime, scripted television series. They have won 27 Emmy's, 27 Annie Awards, and a Peabody Award. I'd say they deserve their money.

In the US, maybe it's the longest-running, but WORLDWIDE, nope, not even CLOSE! The longest-running TV comedy series is most likely the UK's Last of the Summer Wine... been on since 1973... that's almost 40 years at this point! :eek

And the BBC's Doctor Who is in the Guiness Book of World Records as the Longest-Running Science Fiction Program in the History of Television! thumbsup

I'm sure they do... that's why Doctor Who is just the Longest-Running SCIENCE FICTION Series in TV History... I'm sure some of the soaps have it beat by a very large number of years! DW has only been around since 1963, after all, and it took a 16 year-long hiatus from 1989-2005!
