Does anyone know what type of knife is used in "The Shining"?

Here is a photo of it from an exhibit:

The blade is stamped with:
GUSTAV EMIL ERN
SOLINGEN GERMANY

I've been watching Gustav Emil Ern knives on ebay for a couple months, and I've seen a number of similar knives, but I can't find one with the correct blade shape. This one is very close, but the blade curves up at the end, instead of remaining straight:

I'm beginning to think that they modified an existing knife to create the prop knife.

Its possible the film used knives were ground down to rehsape and dull them. Its common practice to do so not to mention copies made for on set use out of metal, plastic, rubber...

It is actually a real knife model but very very rare and very expensive. It is a 10" Gustav Emil Ern straight butcher knife that is stainless steel

So they do exist!
For the past four years, Ebay has been emailing me every time a Gustav Emil Ern is listed, but I have never seen one.
Thanks for the info!

Your welcome! Gustav Emil Ern knives are getting to be very rare and hard to find. These are even harder to come by
