Ok, it looks like I'm going to be making two full predator costumes for my son and a friend's daughter for this Halloween.
They're both 17, thin and about 5'4" tall.
My plan so far is to use the really small P2 helmet, that that British guy on eBay used to sell, and sculpt a generic mask that will fit under it that can later be customized with different quills, paintjobs, etc.
For the mask, I'd "like" to make the mandibles articulated, using a variation of the Grusderk system. I'm pretty sure I can figure it out, it's just articulated fingers attached to a fiberglass or vacuform underskull, but I need tips on sculpting the mask itself- For instance how thin should I make the "membranes" around the mouth so that they move right? Also will regular latex be flexible enough, or would it be better to try a self skinning foam?
I'll probably be sculpting much of the armor myself, but if anyone can recommend smaller size gauntlets and shoulder cannons and the like, it would make life a lot simpler.
I've got a fair start on blocking out the head, so I'll see if I can get some pics up in a few days!
Thanks!
