I took screengrabs of the same things off of the online airing of this episode when it came out, but your pic's are a tad bit sharper. I fixed the card.

I'm pretty sure Conner's laptop is a Dell Inspiron, and I THINK the B130 model.

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles props ?????

Well if that drivers license was more fictional and not so damn close to the real thing I would jump on replicating it... But, ever since 911 the heat and watchful eye on counterfeit IDs has been turned up, and the having the watchful eye turned towards me isn't worth the hassle...

It's really too bad as it's not really that hard to make the thing including a fake hologram...

Already started!:love

Nice! I thought Cam's chip was cool. Hopefully someone will be able to do a run of them here!

An idea I was thinking of would be to modify a USB case and make it look like a Terminator chip, just as a novelty.

I was thinking of the same thing. Might as well make it useful. :)

I already posted these in another thread, but it would be cool if someone could build the gun used to repel the terminator trying to break into the vault just before they time-traveled.

Can you just make the fronts fully accurate, and the back can have a HUGE disclaimer stating this card is fake, fake, fake?

Yes, and no it's a very touchy issue since 911... There have been a bunch of websites (most of them that are still up are scams) shut down that sold "novelty" ID that contained the wording "Not a government issued ID" on them in an inconspicuous place like on the back or even outside the lamination and even extending the lamination up or down almost all these people/companies have been convicted and shut for doing that... And to be truthful if it was as easy as putting "fake" on the back then everyone would exploit the hole since 9 times out of 10 bouncers or stores never even give the back of an ID the time of day...

A lot of it has to do with "intent" making a replica prop isn't intent to defraud or falsify identity and would most likely not lead to a conviction or even charges (that is what the real prop guys gamble on) , but it only takes one idiot to bring things crashing down...

With todays computers and the availability of cheap equipment (you can purchase the same exact PVC printers used by the DMV in most states for under $2000) the current IDs are not secure so they have turned up the pressure... Real holograms are a pretty hard to fake, but making a multi color shifting pearlescent image in the same same outline of the hologram isn't all that hard, and will fool most people unless they take a real close look... Hell even the once hard to replicate microprint can be convincingly faked now with a top of the line inkjet printer...

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles props ?????

So if it's illegal to make fake ID's. How in the heck do film and television shows get away with it, and who handles the making of these things for them?

I mean damn... It's not like we will look like Sarah Connor.

The gold stuff could be printed on clear overhead transparency sheets. I see a few layers of transparency sheets involved to make a real good replica.

It's all about "intent" movie studios and the prop departments have a legit and legal reason to make them... And so do others, but like everything making one or two for a exclusive use by a TV series or movie is different then offering them to the general public in high numbers...
