I've never collected swords before but this thread got my interest going. I found a museum edition Sting for $197 which sounds about right. Cool collectible too.

The rest of them sharp weapons are too rich for my blood. :)

But they are some kinda cool. :thumbsup

thats a good price.
its about what i paid for mine GET IT.

the MC sting is really nice, it actually feels like a real weapon as opposed to the regular one that just feels like a wallhanger that it is lol.......
two things tho...

#1: GET THE SCABBARD. you will love it and it looks so sweet wiht the sword

BUT

#2: the sword with scabbard will not display together on the MC case, so you have to sorta prop the scabbard up beside the sword in the case....... and i had to do my upside down... but you still get the point...

heres a little pic of the LOTR wall so far....... starting wiht the MC Glamdring and MC Sting so far...
I will have the legolas daggers above the MC sting and to the right of that will hang the LE Anduril or shards.... havent decided yet...

Wow, that's some collection. Generally speaking, these replicas are made of metal, but not actual metal that could cut something? None of them have an edge? I think that Sting was made of Stainless, but that doesn't mean it sharp.

I did get the scabbard. I could see that it was important in your original post.

Now where to hide it from the wife..... :confused

well the type of material is not AS important as the heat treat...

I was speaking with Kit Rae about that and he said that the MC stings are made out of carbon steel, supposed to be 1060 series carbon steel...... which is good stuff..... and he said the Stings got pretty decent heat treatments.......... BUT he said that the MC Glamdrings did NOT get good heat treatments....... whcih makes um pretty much wallhangers...

in my picture above...... everything in that picture EXCEPT the MCs are custom made FUNCTIONAL swords

:eek Wow, that's one pretty sweet collection (and that's not even all of it since I know you have other swords). Nice to see your custom LOTR Glamdring/Ranger inspired sword next to the MC Glamdring, but I would never have thought it to be that small compared to the thing it's based on. Same goes for Gwailas, I assumed it would be bigger since it's based on Narsil. Anyway, I hope you obtain all the LOTR swords you can get. It's been one pain in the @#%$ for me since I've not been able to get one at a low price because someone always either out bids me or buys it before I can :angry . Good luck.

yeh gwailas was actually designed to be a rather short bladed sword with a long handle....... sorta katana proportions......
